"Indonesia perlu menciptakan citra positif dan identitas yang kuat untuk memperkuat hubungan diplomatik dalam rangka menguatkan posisi negara dalam skala internasional. Hubungan diplomasi umumnya bersifat jangka panjang, dengan menuntut negara untuk terus membangun dan memperkuat citra positif secara berkala. Untuk itu, negara perlu mendorong usaha-usaha menciptakan citra positif melalui aktivitas nation branding. Salah satu aktivitas nation branding yang dilakukan oleh Indonesia adalah penyelenggaraan Festival Indonesia di Korea Selatan. Dalam melihat implementasi branding Indonesia melalui Festival Indonesia, tulisan ini menggunakan metode studi literatur untuk mengumpulkan data, informasi dan referensi yang berkaitan dengan Festival Indonesia. Festival Indonesia diusung sebagai ajang diplomasi budaya antar dua negara. Namun dalam pelaksanaannya, Festival Indonesia juga berhasil menjadi ajang nation branding Indonesia untuk publik Korea Selatan dan bahkan publik internasional. Festival Indonesia mampu mengadakan branding dengan menjawab pertanyaan seperti produk apa saja yang dimiliki, mengapa publik perlu memperhatikan produk tersebut dan apa keistimewaan produk. Implementasi branding dijawab melalui mata acara yang dibawakan seperti penampilan kebudayaan hingga lokakarya membuat produk budaya Indonesia seperti batik. Keberhasilan Festival Indonesia mengimplementasikan aspek-aspek branding mendapatkan apresiasi dari pihak-pihak eksternal.

In order to strengthen the country's position on an international scale, Indonesia needs to create a positive image and strong identity to strengthen diplomatic relations. Diplomatic relations are generally run in long-term periods, thus requiring the state to continue to build and strengthen a positive image on a regular basis. For this reason, the state must boost efforts to create a positive image through nation branding activities. One of the nation branding activities carried out by Indonesia is ‘Festival Indonesia’ in South Korea. This paper uses the literature study method to collect data, information and references related to the ‘Festival Indonesia’ in looking at the implementation of Indonesian branding through the ‘Festival Indonesia’. The ‘Festival Indonesia’ is promoted as a place for cultural diplomacy between the two countries. However, in its implementation, ‘Festival Indonesia’ has also succeeded in becoming a momentum to nation brand Indonesia in front of the South Korean public and even the international public. Festival Indonesia is able to implement branding by answering questions such as what products are owned, why the public needs to pay attention to these products and what is the specialty of the product. The implementation of branding is answered through events that are presented, such as cultural performances to workshops on making Indonesian cultural products such as batik. The success of Festival Indonesia in implementing aspects of branding has received appreciation from external parties."
