"ABSTRAKHomoseksualitas merupakan sebuah isu yang belakangan ini masih dianggap tabuoleh sebagian besar masyarakat dunia. Meskipun demikian, homoseksualitas kinimenjadi sebuah hal yang menarik dalam studi literatur, khususnya perjuangankaum homoseksual dalam mencari persamaan hak di masyarakat. Skripsi inimenganalisa film Milk (2008), disutradarai oleh Gus Van Sant, denganmenggunakan teori representasi serta mise en scène untuk melihat tokoh HarveyMilk. Kedua pendekatan tersebut digunakan untuk membuktikan bahwa sosokHarvey Milk merupakan sebuah representasi perjuangan kaum homoseksual diranah publik. Konflik yang ada menunjukkan sikap publik Amerika terhadaphomoseksualitas pada 1970-an. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Harvey Milksebagai seorang homoseksual tidak konvensional yang tidak malu menunjukkanidentitasnya. Harvey Milk juga menghadapi beberapa tahapan perubahanpenampilan sebagai sebuah strategi dan negosiasi dengan masyarakatheteroseksual yang mendominasi.

ABSTRACTHomosexuality is an issue that a majority of people in the world consider as a

taboo. Nevertheless, homosexuality continues to become an interesting topic in

literary studies, particularly the struggle of homosexuals to earn their equality in

the public realm. This thesis analyzes the movie Milk (2008), directed by Gus Van

Sant by applying representation theory and mise en scène of the movie to look at

the character Harvey Milk. Both approaches are used to prove that the character

Harvey Milk is a representation of the homosexual's struggle in the public sphere.

His conflict shows the American public attitude towards homosexuality in the

1970s. This result of the research indicates Harvey Milk as a unconventional

homosexual who was not ashamed to show his identity. Harvey Milk also faced

some stages of changing his appearance as a strategy and negotiation with the

dominating heterosexual society."

Dahulu film-film bertemakan homoseksual pernah mati akibat rezim Nazi, karena Nazi membenci homoseksualitas dan beranggapan bahwa homoseksualitas mengancam maskulinitas negara. Setelah tumbangnya Nazi film-film bertemakan homoseksual mulai kembali bermunculan, salah satunya adalah film bertajuk Jonathan. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai representasi homoseksual yang terdapat pada film Jonathan 2016 sebagai film debut karya Piotr. J. Lewandowski. Tidak seperti film bertemakan homoseksual lainnya, Jonathan menampilkan tokoh gay yang hidup dalam kesengsaraan. Kesengsaraan tokoh gay disebabkan keputusannya untuk mengingkari orientasi seksualnya yang kemudian menyebabkan efek domino kepada istri dan anaknya. Di akhir film orientasi seksual tokoh utama diterima oleh keluarganya sebelum ia mati dan hal ini melahirkan kebahagiaan serta penerimaan diri pada tokoh utama. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperlihatkan representasi homoseksual di pedesaan Jerman dalam film. Untuk meneliti bagaimana film merepresentasikan homoseksual, maka diperlukan teori semiotika dari John Fiske, yang lebih fokus pada tanda dalam film, sehingga dapat diketahui bagaimana tokoh homoseksual direpresentasikan melalui kostum, pencahayaan, dan musik dalam film. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengingkaran diri tidak saja merugikan diri sendiri, tapi juga merugikan orang lain. Penerimaan diri amatlah penting, tidak saja untuk kebahagiaan diri sendiri, tapi juga untuk kebahagiaan orang lain, terutama keluarga.

ABSTRACT<>br>Homosexuality is not a foreign film theme in German. Formerly homosexual themed films had died from the Nazi regime, because the Nazis hated homosexuality and thought that homosexuality threatened the state rsquo s masculinity. After the fall of the Nazi, homosexual themed films began to re emerge, one of which is a film titled Jonathan. This study discusses the homosexual representation found in Jonathan 2016 as Piotr. J. Lewandowski rsquo s debut film. Unlike other gay themed films, Jonathan features gay character who lives in a misery. The gay character rsquo s misery is due to his decision to deny his sexual orientation, which then causes a domino effect on his wife and son. At the end of the film, the main character rsquo s sexual orientation is accepted by his family before he dies and this give happiness and self acceptance for the main character. The purpose of this study is to show homosexual representation in rural Germany in the film. To examine how this film represents homosexuality, it takes the semiotic theory of John Fiske, which focuses more on the sign in the film, so it can be seen how the homosexual character is represented through costumes, lighting, and music in the film. This research shows that self denial is not only self defeating, it also harms others. Self acceptance is very important, not only for the happiness of oneself, but also for the happiness of others, especially the family."

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptifdan studi kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa wacanahomoseksualitas yang terepresentasi di dalam film dapat hadir karena masyarakatyang masih berpegang pada norma heteroseksual sebagai pedoman hidupsehingga mereka menganggap pilihan untuk menjadi homoseksual adalah halyang abnormal dan keberadaan kelompok minoritas tersebut menjadi marjinal.Film ini mengkritik masyarakat yang intoleran tersebut dan menawarkanperspektif humanis dalam menyikapi isu homoseksual.

ABSTRACTThis thesis discusses the discourse about homosexuality in the film All You Need

is Love - Meine ist ein Mann Schwiegertochter in relation to the concept of

heterosexuality. This research used descriptive analysis and literature study. The

results of this study stated that present discourse encompassing homosexuality

that represented in the film because people who still hold to the heteronormativity

as a way of life so that they consider the choice to be homosexual is abnormal and

the existence of homosexuality is marginalized. The film is criticizes an intolerant

society and offer a more humanistic perspective in addressing the issue of

ABSTRACT<>br>This article discusses homosexuality featured in the film J 39 ai r v sous l 39 eau. This article raises the issue of sexual orientation that occurred on the character Antonin. Factor from within himself is the main trigger of the change of his sexual orientation due to the sadness of losing someone he loves, Alex. The results of this study show that the change in sexual identity in the film J 39 ai r v sous l 39 eau is caused by internal factors, such as the feeling of losing and the sadness due to the death of someone he loves. In addition, the other factor that affects the change of Antonin 39 s sexual orientation is the presences of Juliette and Baptiste who give attention, affection and intimate closeness that cause the changes of sexual identity to Antonin. "ABSTRACTThis undergraduate thesis discusses how grief in the movie A Single Man (2009) is represented through several elements. The elements are: the contradicting use of colours for the background of the movie, the symbolism of water, and the suicidal thought. The technique of film analysis and Sigmund Freuds psychoanalysis are used to analyse them. Aside from the elements, this study also explores the idea on how such bereavement is influenced by the main protagonists gender and sexual preference. Therefore, this study also highlights the interaction between George Falconer and other people, particularly Charley and Kenny. It is then concluded that George could only grief in private as he is forced to silence his grief due to his gender and sexual orientation.

ABSTRACTSkripsi ini membahas bagaimana rasa duka dalam film A Single Man (2009) direpresentasikan melalui beberapa elemen. Unsur-unsur tersebut adalah: penggunaan warna yang bertentangan untuk latar belakang film, simbolisme air, dan pemikiran bunuh diri. Teknik analisis film dan psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud digunakan untuk menganalisisnya. Selain unsur-unsur, penelitian ini juga mengeksplorasi ide tentang bagaimana berkabung seperti itu dipengaruhi oleh gender protagonis utama dan preferensi seksual. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini juga menyoroti interaksi antara George Falconer dan orang lain, terutama Charley dan Kenny. Kemudian disimpulkan bahwa George hanya bisa berduka secara pribadi karena ia terpaksa membungkam kesedihannya karena gender dan orientasi seksualnya."

Penelitian ini melihat bagaimana khalayak memaknai kisah cinta dan adegan seksual para penyandang disabilitas dalam film Ketika Tidak Bicara Cinta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan konstruktivis dengan memakai teori resepsi encoding-decoding Stuart Hall untuk melihat pemaknaan dari khalayak aktif. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif, hal ini dikarenakan data yang dikumpulkan oleh peneliti berupa hasil wawancara dengan para informan. Teknik pengumpulan menggunakan wawancara mendalam dengan informan. Hasil penelitian ini terlebih dahulu melihat pemaknaan cinta, adegan seksual, dan disabilitas yang telah terkonstruksi pada khalayak perempuan "normal". Setelah itu, dilanjutkan dengan pemaknaan terhadap cinta dan adegan seksual para penyandang disabilitas dalam film Ketika Tidak Bicara Cinta. Konsep encodingdecoding film tersebut menghasilkan bahwa posisi ketiga informan dalam memaknai film Ketika Tidak Bicara Cinta cenderung dipengaruh oleh budaya yang dianut, latar belakang keluarga dan pendidikan, serta pola pergaulan

This thesis discusses about women audiences reception toward What They Don’t Talk about When Talk about Love Movie. The story of this film is about disabilities love and sexual stories. This thesis sees how the audience's reception about disabilities love and sex stories in the film. This research uses constructivist approach along with the encoding-decoding reception theory by Stuart Hall. This research is descriptive because the data that has been gathered is the description from all informants. The data gathered technique is through in-depth interview.

The result of this research is to see audience reception for love, sexual film scene, and disability that has been construct in a "normal" society especially women. Then, it will proceed with women audience reception toward disabilities love and sexual scene from What They Don't Talk about When They Talk about Love film. Encoding-Decoding concept brings a result that the audience receptions depend on their culture, family and education background, also their peer group."

"Film Under the Hawthorn Tree (山楂树之恋Sanzhashuzhi Lian) berkisah tentang hubungan cinta sepasang kekasih yang akrab dipanggil Jingqiu (Zhang Jingqiu) dan Lao San (Sun Jianxin). Film ini mengambil latar waktu pada masa Revolusi Kebudayaan. Jingqiu dan Lao San memiliki hubungan yang sangat unik, penuh keluguan, menjadikan pohon sanzha sebagai simbol cinta, yang semuanya terjalin pada saat Revolusi Budaya berlangsung. Sepanjang film tidak terlihat adanya campur tangan atau pengawasan Partai terhadap perjalanan kisah cinta mereka. Pengawasan dan keberatan terhadap hubungan mereka justru muncul dari pihak Ibu Jingqiu. Keberatan dari Ibu Jingqiu disebabkan oleh alasan-alasan politis dan kondisi keluarga mereka. Bagaimana kondisi keluarganya? Dan apa yang terjadi dengan hubungan cinta mereka dengan latar belakang keluarga masing-masing? Untuk menjawab pertanyaan ini, penulis akan melakukan pembedahan terhadap film melalui analisis tokoh dan penokohan serta analisis cerita dalam film. Melalui analisis ini diharapkan dapat mengungkapkan bagaimana keunikan kisah cinta antara kedua tokoh yang berbeda latar belakang di masa Revolusi Kebudayaan dalam film Cinta Under the Hawthorn Tree (山楂树之恋Sanzhashuzhi Lian).

`Under the Hawthorn Tree,` a movie that tells a romance story of Jingqiu (Zhang Jingqiu) and Lao San (Sun Jianxin). The tale of this two lovers set during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Jingqiu and Lao San have a very unique relationship, ingenuous love, they both perceive shanzha tree as a symbol of love. Although their love tale in the movie shows that there is no interference to their relationship by the communist party, it's Jingqiu's mother that disapprove about their love between one another. Family background and politics reason are causing this objection from Jingqiu's mother. What is the background situation within their family? What happen with their love relationship with such family circumstances? To answer these questions, the author will examine the story through character and characterization analysis by also analyzing the story plot within the movie. Through this analysis, the author expects to reveal uniqueness of this romance between two different characters and two different background during the Cultural Revolution in the movie entitled Under the Hawthorn Tree (山楂树之恋Sanzhashuzhi Lian)."

"ABSTRAKJurnal ini membahas tentang analisis webtoon It Sun yang berjudul Ubau. Dewasa ini, webtoon menjadi jauh lebih populer dibandingkan buku komik. Pada 2004, NAVER merilis Naver Manhwa sebagai wadah bagi komikus berkarya, juga sebagai sebuah upaya untuk mengurangi membaca komik secara ilegal. Naver Manhwa mdash;di Indonesia berada di bawah naungan Line mdash;telah mengubah lanskap komik digital dengan memberikan kemudahan dan aksesibilitas bagi para pembaca Agnes, 2016 . Selain lebih mudah untuk diakses dan formatnya lebih nyaman untuk digunakan, penyampaian cerita lewat webtoon juga lebih mudah dibaca. Tujuan jurnal ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bahwa delapan tokoh binatang yang paling sering muncul di dalam webtoon ini adalah penggambaran karakteristik pribadinya It Sun. Dalam makalah ini, metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif dan teknik studi pustaka. Penelitian ini memiliki hasil bahwa penggambaran karakteristik pada tokoh-tokoh binatang tersebut adalah penggambaran sifat-sifatnya sang webtoonist sendiri. Selain itu, semua pendapat dan pemikiran It Sun ia salurkan lewat webtoon Ubau sebagai perantaranya.

ABSTRACTThis journal will talk about the analysis results of It Sun rsquo;s webtoon titled Ubau. These days, webtoons have become more popular compared to comics. In 2004, NAVER released Naver Manhwa as a vessel for comic book makers, also as an effort to decrease illegal readings of comic books. Naver Manhwa mdash;under the patronage of Line in Indonesia mdash;has changed the digital comic book landscape by providing easisness and accessibility for the readers Agnes, 2016 . In addition to being easier to access and more convenient to use format, the delivery of stories via webtoon is also easier to read. This journal rsquo;s intention is to describe the animal characters that are in this webtoon are the depiction of It Sun rsquo;s own characteristics. The method that would be used in this journal is the qualitative method with descriptive analysis and the literature study technique. This journal has a result that the depiction of characters that are present in these animal characters are the webtoonist rsquo;s own characteristics. Moreover, It Sun used Ubau as his media to channel his thoughts and opinions."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji representasi nasionalisme pada peristiwa Gwangju Uprising yang ditunjukkan dalam film Taeksi Unjeonsa. Taeksi Unjeonsa adalah salah satu film terlaris di Korea Selatan karya Sutradara Jang Hoon yang dirilis pada tahun 2017. Film ini mengangkat kisah tentang seorang sopir taksi dan reporter asal Jerman yang bekerjasama dalam mengungkap fakta mengenai gerakan Gwangju Uprising di tahun 1980. Gwangju Uprising merupakan salah satu peristiwa terpenting dalam sejarah Korea Selatan karena menjadi langkah awal bagi kemajuan sistem demokrasi di negeri tersebut.Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana representasi nasionalisme pada peristiwa Gwangju Uprising yang digambarkan dalam film Taeksi Unjeonsa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan teori nasionalisme dan representasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sikap masyarakat Korea Selatan dalam film Taeksi Unjeonsa sudah merepresentasikan nasionalisme dilihat dari pendekatan reflektif. Adegan dan dialog dalam film ini menunjukkan adanya aspek-aspek nasionalisme yaitu rela berkorban, mengutamakan persatuan dan kesatuan, cinta tanah air, serta berjiwa pembaharu dan tidak kenal menyerah.

This research aims to examine the representation of nationalism shown in the movie Taeksi Unjeonsa during Gwangju Uprising. Taeksi Unjeonsa is one of the best-selling movies in South Korea directed by Jang Hoon in 2017. This movie tells the story about a taxi driver and a reporter from Germany who teamed up to expose facts about Gwangju Uprising in 1980. Gwangju Uprising is one of the most important events in the history of South Korea because it is the first step in the progress of democratic system there.

This research discusses about how representation of nationalism during Gwangju Uprising potrayed in the movie Taeksi Unjeonsa. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive method and used the theory of nationalism and representation.

The results shows that based on a reflective approach, South Korean`s behaviour in the movie has represented nationalism. The scenes and dialogs in this film shows the aspects of nationalism such as the willing to sacrifice, prioritizing the national unity, love for the nation, having the spirit of a reformer and doesn`t give up easily."
