"Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh campuran ekstrak tanaman binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) dan sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata Nees) terhadap kadar glukosa darah tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus L.) jantan. Tikus dikelompokkan menjadi delapan kelompok. Kelompok kontrol normal tidak diinduksi aloksan dan diberi larutan Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC). Kelompok lainnya diinduksi aloksan dosis 100 mg/kg bb secara intraperitoneal dan masing-masing diberi larutan CMC (kelompok kontrol negatif), Glibenclamide® (kelompok kontrol positif), ekstrak binahong dosis 250 mg/kg bb (kelompok perlakuan ekstrak binahong), ekstrak sambiloto dosis 500 mg/kg bb (kelompok perlakuan ekstrak sambiloto), dan campuran ekstrak dosis 750 mg/kg bb (kelompok perlakuan campuran ekstrak dosis 1); dosis 375 mg/kg bb (kelompok perlakuan campuran ekstrak dosis 2); serta dosis 187,5 mg/kg bb (kelompok campuran ekstrak dosis 3). Pemberian bahan uji dilakukan secara oral selama 21 hari berturut-turut. Hasil uji Kruskal-Wallis dan Anava 1-faktor (P < 0,05) menunjukkan bahwa ketiga dosis campuran ekstrak berpengaruh nyata terhadap penurunan rerata kadar glukosa darah. Penurunan kadar glukosa darah terbesar dicapai oleh kelompok dosis 750 mg/kg bb dengan rerata kadar glukosa darah mendekati nilai kelompok normal, yakni pada hari ke-15 sebesar 121,36 mg/dl dan pada hari ke-22 sebesar 85,37 mg/dl.

The research was done in order to determine the effect of a mixture of extract binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) and sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata Nees) on blood glucose levels of male white rats (Rattus norvegicus L.). The male rats were divided into eight groups. Normal control group was not induced alloxan and given Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) solution. The others were induced alloxan at dose of 100 mg/kg body weight intraperitoneally and each of them was given CMC solution (negative control group), Glibenclamide® (positive control group), binahong extract at dose of 250 mg/kg body weight (binahong group), sambiloto extract at dose of 500 mg/kg body weight (sambiloto group), and mixture extract at dose of 750 mg/kg body weight; 375 mg/kg body weight; and 187,5 mg/kg body weight. The test materials were administrated for 21 consecutive days orally. The result of this experiment showed that statistically both single and mixture extract could decrease blood glucose levels significantly (P < 0,05). The highest decrease of blood glucose levels was achieved by the mixture extract at dose of 750 mg/kg body weight with an average value of blood glucose level 121,36 mg/dl (14 days after treatment) and 85,37 mg/dl (21 days after treatment). "

"Penderita diabetes banyak mengkombinasi antidiabetes herbal dan sintetis untuk mendapatkan efek sinergis atau aditif tanpa menginformasikan terlebih dahulu kepada praktisi kesehatan, seperti penggunaan sambiloto dan glibenklamid. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian infusa herba sambiloto terhadap glibenklamid dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah tikus putih jantan yang dibuat diabetes. Penelitian ini menggunakan 24 ekor tikus putih jantan Sparague-Dawley yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok, yaitu kontrol normal dan kontrol diabetes diberi larutan CMC 0,5% 1 ml/200 g bb tikus, kontrol glibenklamid diberikan suspensi glibenklamid 0,9 mg/200 g bb tikus, kontrol sambiloto diberikan infusa herba sambiloto 50 mg/200 g bb tikus, dan 2 kelompok interaksi diberikan infusa herba sambiloto dengan 2 variasi dosis (50 mg dan 100 mg/200 g bb tikus) dan suspensi glibenklamid 0,9 mg/200 g bb tikus, masing - masing diberikan secara per oral. Semua kelompok diinduksi aloksan 32 mg/200 g bb tikus, kecuali kontrol normal. Pengukuran kadar glukosa darah dilakukan 2 jam dan 4 jam setelah pemberian dengan metode o-toluidin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa infusa herba sambiloto 100 mg/200 g bb tikus memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap glibenklamid dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah setelah satu minggu pemberian.

Many diabetics perform self-medication with antidiabetic herbs and synthetic drugs with the aim to obtain a synergistic or additive effects without informing their primary physician, such as the use of creat and glibenclamide. This research was carried out to know the impact of creat herb infusion on glibenclamide in lowering blood glucose levels on diabetic male albino rats. This study used 24 male Sparague-Dawley rats, which are divided into 6 groups, normal control and diabetic control were given 0,5% CMC solution 1 ml/200 g bw of rat, glibenclamide control were given glibenclamide suspension 0,9 mg/200 g bw of rat, creat control were given creat herb infusion 50 mg/200 g bw of rat, and 2 interaction groups were given creat herb infusion in 2 variant doses (50 and 100 mg/200 g bw of rat) and glibenclamide suspension 0,9 mg/200 g bw of rat, each of them were administrated orally. All of groups were induced with alloxan 32 mg/200 g bw of rat except normal control. Blood glucose was measured by o-toluidine method at 2 hours and 4 hours after administration. The result showed that the creat herb infusion at 100 mg/200 g bw gave significant impact on glibenclamide in lowering blood glucose levels a week after administration."

"Khasiat daun pletekan (Ruellia tuberosa L) sebagai antidiabetes telah diketahui dan dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat di daerah Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh air rebusan daun pletekan terhadap kadar glukosa darah tikus yang dibebani glukosa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan rancangan acak lengkap pola searah menggunakan tikus putih jantan galur Spargue Dawley (SD) usia 2 - 3 bulan, berat 150 - 200 g. Setelah diberikan perlakuan sesuai dengan rancangan, cuplikan darah diambil dalam interval waktu tertentu menggunakan metode Toleransi Glukosa Oral (TTGO). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik ANOVA (Analisis Varians). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa air rebusan daun pletekan pada ketiga variasi dosis (2,7 g/200 g bb, 5,4 g/200 g bb dan 10,8 g/200 g bb) mampu menurunkan secara bermakna (<0,05) kadar glukosa darah tikus. Meskipun demikian, efek hipoglikemianya masih di bawah glibenklamid.
The use pletekan leaf (Ruellia tuberosa L) as a antidiabetic agents, has ben known and used by people in Central Java. This study has been carried out to obtain information on the effect of pletekan leaf extract on the blood glucose level in glucose - preloaded rats. A complete random design was employed in this study on male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats (age 2 - 3 months, 150 - 200 g). After the treatments, the samples of bloods are using Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) that the time have an interval. The result showed that the variance of doses (2,7 g/200 g bb, 5,4g/200 g bb and 10,8 g/200 g bb) of pletekan leaf extract were able to decrease (< 0,05) the blood glucose level were significantly. Eventhought, in the present study, the highest hypoglycaemic effect of pletekan leaf extract was lower than that of Glibenclamid."

"Ekstrak etanol kulit kayu jamblang (Syzygium cumini Skeels) telah diuji untuk mengetahui efek penurunan kadar glukosa darah tikus yang diberi diit glukosa. Hewan percobaan dibagi menjadi lima kelompok dan tiap kelompok terdiri dari lima ekor tikus. Kelompok 1 (kontrol normal), kelompok II (kontrol pembanding), Kelompok III, IV, dan V (kontrol perlakuan). Kontrol normal diberi larutan CMC 0,5%, kontrol pembanding diberi suspensi glibenklamid, dan kelompok perlakuan diberi ekstrak etanol kulit kayu jamblang secara oral dengan dosis berturut-turut 0,72 g/200 g bb; 1,44/200 g bb; dan 2,88 g/ 200 g bb. Ekstrak etanol kulit kayu jamblang dibuat menjadi suspensi dengan menggunakan CMC 0,5%. Pada 1/2 jam setelah perlakuan, menunjukkan adanya penurunan kadar glukosa darah yang signifikan pada semua kelompok perlakuan setelah dianalisis secara statistik dengan uji ANOVA (α < 0,05). Penurunan kadar glukosa darah terhadap kontrol normal paling besar ditunjukkan oleh kontrol perlakuan yang diberi dosis 2,88 g/200 g bb, yaitu sebesar 30,07% setelah 1/2 jam.

Ethanol extract of bark of jamblang (Syzygium cumini Skeels) has been examined to find out effect of blood glucose concentration of rat that was treated with glucose diet. The animal divided to five groups and each group consisted of five rats. Group I was normal control, group II was comparison control), and group III , IV, V were treated control. Normal control group was treated with 0,5% CMC solution, comparison control group was treated with glibenclamid suspention and treated control group was gived orally with etanol extract of bark of Syzygium cumini with the following doses; 0,72 g/200 g bw; 1,44/200 g bw; and 2,88 g/ 200 g bw. Ethanol extract of jamblang?s bark was made into suspention in 0,5% CMC solution. At half an hour after the treatment, blood glucose concentration showed a significant decrease in the treated control group. After being analyzed statistically with ANOVA test (α < 0,05). The highest decrease of blood glucose concentration compared to normal control group was showed by the treated control group (2,88 g/200 g bw) by 30,07% after half an hour."
