"Tasikmalaya Regency has been known as a region that had been occupied from prehistoric period. The site contains many prehistoric artifacts along the Cihelang and Cilangla rivers, especially stone tools artifact. The raw material from the stone tools is diverse such as chert, jasper, chalcedony, quartz, and tuff were found there. The problem is the entire stone tools that were found are not been analyzed yet from the previous research. Through archaeotraciology and lithic implements analysis, it is possible to establish a link between technological behaviors, major quarrying, and tools type. Moreover, this site could help us to understand certain aspect of prehistoric human's behaviors during the upper Pleistocene until early Holocene, especially in West Java.

"Cognitive Models in Palaeolithic Archaeology champions the use of formal cognitive models in the analysis of prehistoric remains from the deep past. The authors of individual chapters include many of the leading authorities in the nascent field of cognitive archaeology. After a historically organized introduction to evolutionary cognitive archaeology by Thomas Wynn, the chapters present and apply several different cognitive models to Palaeolithic remains, including expert cognition (T. Wynn, M. Lombard, M. Haidle, F. L. Coolidge), information processing (P. Barnard, I. Davidson, R. Byrne), material engagement theory (L. Malafouris), embodied/extended cognition (L. Overmann), neuroaesthetics (M. Martin-Loeches), visual resonance theory (D. Hodgson), theory of mind (J. Cole), and neuronal recycling (T. Wynn, L. Overmann, F. L. Coolidge, K. Janulis). The authors address archaeological remains from the entire range of the Palaeolithic, from the earliest stone tools 3.3 million years ago to artistic developments that emerged after 50,000 years ago. The volume demonstrates clearly the kinds of insights that can be gained by applying formal cognitive models to Palaeolithic evidence."

"Since the mid-1990s, several Japanese cities have responded to the gradual increase in their non-Japanese populations by setting up ‘foreigners' assemblies’—venues in which representative foreigners, generally appointed by local officials and civilian representatives, can come together to discuss the social, economic, and cultural challenges of life in Japan. These bodies have no administrative power, but serve as advisory panels to local governments. This paper uses ethnographic studies of two such bodies—those of Kanagawa prefecture and Kawasaki city—to ascertain their role in contemporary Japanese society. I find that they have powerful relevance to three hotly debated issues: internationalization, local empowerment, and the development of civil society in Japan."

"ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini membahas mengenai analisis jejak pakai pada alat tulang dari situs Gua
Kidang, Kabupaten Blora, Jawa Tengah. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk
mengetahui fungsi alat tulang situs Gua Kidang. Penelitian ini dimulai dari
kegiatan klasifikasi analitik dan klasifikasi taksonomik. Klasifikasi taksonomik
pada alat tulang situs Gua Kidang, menghasilkan tiga tipe alat, yaitu lancipan,
spatula, dan serut. Dari 290 alat tulang, 79 alat memperlihatkan adanya jejak
pakai, dan hanya 15 alat yang diamati dan direkam menggunakan mikroskop
stereo. Hasil pengamatan kemudian dibandingkan dengan penelitian para ahli
mengenai eksperimen dan analisis jejak pakai pada alat tulang. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa alat tulang situs Gua Kidang digunakan untuk aktivitas
menusuk dan mengebor, menggali, mengikis dan menggosok, serta meraut.

ABSTRACT
In this thesis the results of use-wear analysis of bone tools assemblage from Gua
Kidang Site, Blora, Central Java, are presented. The aim of this study is to find
out the function of these bone tools. The research is started by classifying the
bone tools through analytic and taxonomic classifications. Result of taxonomic
classification shows that there are three types of bone tools: point, spatulae, and
scraper. From 290 bone tools, 79 of them showed use-wear traces, and 15 of them
are chosen to be examined and recorded with stereomicroscope. Use-wear traces
recorded from the examination are compared with those reported by experts from
their experiments and use-wear analysis on bone tools. Result shows that bone
tools of Gua Kidang site are probably used for piercing, boring, digging, scraping,
smoothing, and whittling."

"Telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan memperoleh identitas dua isolat bakteri termofilik dari geiser. Isolat LC2-23 diperoleh dari serasah pada geiser di Cisolok, Jawa Barat, Indonesia, dan isolat RKB-2 diperoleh dari serasah pada geiser di Onikobe, Miyagi, Jepang.!!Identifikasi dilakukan berdasarkan gabungan data fenotipik dan genotipik. Berdasarkan karakterisasi fenotipik, isolat LC2-23 memiliki sel berbentuk batang; menghasilkan endospora; motil; gram positif; bersifat aerob dan fakultatif aerob; mampu tumbuh pada suhu 60 oC, sedangkan suhu optimum pertumbuhan 50 oC. Berdasarkan karakterisasi genotipik, data full sequence gen 16S rRNA isolat LC2-23 memiliki homologi 99,1% terhadap Brevibacillus agri. Berdasarkan data fenotipik dan genotipik, isolat LC2-23 diidentifikasi sebagai Brevibacillus agri (Family Paenibacillaceae, Order Bacillales, Class Bacilli, Phylum Firmicutes). Berdasarkan karakterisasi fenotipik, isolat RKB-2 membentuk miselium vegetatif dan aerial yang bercabang; menghasilkan spora aerial; gram positif; bersifat aerob; mampu tumbuh pada suhu 60 oC, sedangkan suhu optimum pertumbuhan 50 oC. Berdasarkan karakterisasi genotipik, data full sequence gen 16S rRNA isolat RKB-2 memiliki homologi yang rendah, yaitu 98,4% terhadap spesies terdekatnya, Thermosporothrix hazakensis (Family Thermosporotrichaceae, Order Ktedonobacteriales, Class Ktedonobacteria, Phylum Chloroflexi). Hasil analisis filogenetik menunjukkan posisi isolat RKB-2 terpisah dari T. hazakensis. Data kemotaksonomi (komposisi asam lemak) dan hasil analisis proteomik menggunakan MALDI-TOF MS mendukung perbedaan antara isolat RKB-2 dan T. hazakensis. Berdasarkan perbedaan tersebut isolat RKB-2 diidentifikasi sebagai spesies baru dari Thermosporothrix. Untuk pengajuan nama spesies baru diperlukan data hibridisasi DNA-DNA antara isolat RKB-2 dengan T. hazakensis.

This research was aimed to identify two bacterial isolates obtained from geysers. Strain LC2-23 was isolated from litters on a geyser in Cisolok, West Java, Indonesia, and isolate RKB-2 was obtained from litters on a geyser in Onikobe, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Identification of bacteria was based on integrated data of phenotypic and genotypic characterizations. Based on phenotypic characterizations of isolate LC2-23: it has a rod (bacilli)-shaped cells, forms endospores; gram positive; motile; aerobic, and able to grow up to a temperature of 60 oC. Based on genotypic characterizations of isolate LC2-23: the full sequence of genes 16S rRNA shows 99.1% sequence homology to Brevibacillus agri. Based on phenotypic and genotypic data, isolate LC2-23 can be identified as Brevibacillus agri (Family Paenibacillaceae, Order Bacillales, Class Bacilli, Phylum Firmicutes). Based on phenotypic characterizations of isolate RKB-2: vegetative and branching aerial mycelia forms, gram positive, aerobic, and able to grow up to a temperature of 60 oC. Based on genotypic characterizations of isolate RKB-2: the full sequence of 16S rRNA gene of isolate RKB-2 showed low homology (98.4%) to Thermosporothrix hazakensis (Family Thermosporotrichaceae, Order Ktedonobacteriales, Class Ktedonobacteria, Phylum Chloroflexi). Phylogenetic analysis showed the isolate RKB-2 was distinct from cluster of Thermosporothrix hazakensis and Ktedonobacteria bacterium. The genotypic and phylogenetic data, plus chemotaxonomic and proteomic analysis using MALDI-TOF MS, suggest that isolate RKB-2 represent novel species of the genus Thermosporothrix. The DNA-DNA hibridization data is needed for proposal of new species.

"Penelitian ini akan membahas masalah dari sektor agrikultur Jepang: apa saja peran dan fungsi dari proyek Workaway dalam membantu penyelesaian masalah-masalah dan prediksi ke depan terkait pertumbuhan ekonomi dan pembangunan di dalam konteks hubungan desa-kota dan juga keuntungannya untuk negara ini, di level mikro dan makro. Globalisasi dan layanan-layanan internet dapat berkontribusi di dalam manajemen pembangunan area pedesaan melalui proyek-proyek Workaway.

Industrialisasi dan daya tarik kota telah membangkitkan urbanisasi dari pedesaan ke kota-kota besar. Dari level makro, skema penurunan dapat dilihat dari sektor agrikultur yang menghadapi berbagai masalah serius yang disebabkan oleh urbanisasi massal, masyarakat yang menua (ageing society), dan penurunan populasi petani-petani muda.

Data dari penelitian ini dianalisis dengan metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan konten analisis studi literatur. Penjelasan dari analisisnya disajikan berdasarkan analisis aspek-aspek yang dapat membuat proyek-proyek Workaway berkontribusi dalam pembangunan berkelanjutan. Fokus utama dari proyek-proyeknya adalah pencarian pekerja-pekerja dengan menggunakan daya tarik kontraurbanisasi dari pariwisata di sekeliling lokasi proyek, untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan wilayah pedesaan.


This research will examine the problem of Japanese farming sector: what the roles and the functions of Workaway projects in helping to solve the problems, and the prediction for the future regarding the economic growth and the development of the rural-urban relation context and also the benefit for this country, at the micro and the macro level. The globalization and the internet services both contribute in the management of developing the rural area through the Workaway projects.

Industrialization and the attraction of the city has generated urbanization from the villages to the big cities. At the macro level, the downgrading scheme can be seen through the agricultural sector which suffers several serious problems toward the increase of a mass urbanization, ageing society, and the decline of the young farmers population.

The data of this research is analysed with qualitative methods using content analysis of the literature studies. The explanation will be provided by analyzing what aspects which could make Workaway projects make a contribution towards sustainable development. The projects are mainly tend to focus in finding the workers using counterurbanization attraction of the tourism magnetism around the place, for sustainable development in rural areas."
