Nepenthes are classified as carnivorous plants with their distribution center in Indonesia. The island of Sumatra has the second highest diversity of Nepenthes after Borneo. The research aims to determine the diversity of Nepenthes species in North Sumatra and West Sumatra Provinces, including distribution, population, habitat conditions, nutrient concentrations and conservation status. Exploration was carried out to inventory the species of Nepenthes found at each research location, purposive sampling plots were made to study their ecology and nutrient analysis of Nepenthes was carried out in the laboratory. The results showed that a total of 33 species of Nepenthes were found at the site, consisting of 22 species in North Sumatra and 23 species in West Sumatra. Ten of these species are classified as endangered, considering that their population and distribution are very limited. Nepenthes is very strongly associated with the dominant vegetation species in its habitat. In the same unit (%), the nitrogen concentration in Nepenthes leaves is generally greater than the concentration in the pitchers fluid, while the nitrogen concentration in Nepenthes leaves is not affected by increasing the altitude at which it lives."

"Several pieces of research on the toponym of place names in Indonesia have been carried out but focus on place names on the island of Java. The limited documentation of place names makes the study of toponymy in Sumatra a must. This article aims to map the thematization of place naming on the West Coast of Sumatra Island. The research was conducted in a qualitative descriptive manner with a corpus linguistic approach. Data was collected by means of documentation, interviews, and focus group discussions. Data were analyzed by following work procedures by Miles and Huberman (2013), involving data condensation, data display, verification drawing, and Sudaryat's toponymy categorization (2009). The results showed that the toponym of place names on the West Coast of Sumatra Island reflects the relationship between humans and their natural environment. This relationship is manifested through the thematization of place names, namely: embodiment, social, and culture. The embodiment aspect includes the sub-themes of water background, topographical background, and natural environment background. The social aspects include the sub-themes of residential background, economic activity background, and building background. The cultural aspects include sub-themes of myths, folklore, and legends passed down through oral traditions."

This research has two main objectives, revealing the role of politic in budget process and giving recommendation on how budget process is able to accommodate them. This research is motivated by the information that politic is misused (budget mafia). Missaproriation of budgeting process whichs not following strategic policy is an initial of fraud. This study analyzes further about budget process with the involvement of politic. The object of this research is city of DEF one of the city in sumatera island where this region is having some cases of coruption related to budget published by KPK 2018.This research uses qualitative research and case studies which explains why and how the phenomena is occured. The analysis used content and thematic method by open questionnaires and interview. Questionnaries and interview are designed based on research question and distributed to employees who ever involved in budget process (planning division). The results shows that politic gives negative and positive role. Politic is not only give positive impact as public channel but also negative risk such as conflict of interest whereas politic is abused for certain interest. Politic is more independence than rule. The forms of politic is misused due the changes the budget activity or program. It is found that Aparat Pengawasan Internal Pemerintah (APIP) has important role to help the control by managing the budget change compare to goals and objectives."

"Keterbatasan infrastruktur penyediaan data pasang surut real-time di pesisir Indonesia memunculkan solusi pemanfaatan model pasang surut.

The limited infrastructure for providing real-time tide data on the coasts of Indonesia has led to solutions for using tidal models. The west coast of Sumatra Island, which faces the Indian Ocean from Aceh to Lampung, has the potential for marine energy to improve the welfare of coastal communities. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of the BIG regional tide model using 19 permanent tidal stations as evaluator points with parameters such as RMS, RSS, RSSIQ, and Discrepancy which are analyzed per season as well as analysis of the correlation coefficient between observed data and tidal models. Analysis of sea energy potential from tidal, current, and wave energy is carried out at the tidal station radius. The results of the study are that the RMS values range from 0.026m – 1.039m with variations in the RSS for each season, namely DJF 1.150m; MAM 0.502m; JJA 0.426m and SON 1.223m. Discrepancy values of the 8 main harmonic constants produce almost the same percentages in the 1st (DJF) and 4th (SON) seasons, namely 25.495% and 26.749%, in the 2nd (MAM) and 3rd (JJA) seasons, namely 10.844 % and 9.107%. These results indicate the reliability of the model in representing sea level height in the study area which is supported by a positive and strong correlation coefficient of 0.96097 0.5m/s), while larger wave heights are found on the coast directly facing the Indian Ocean (> 1.6m). Analysis of the location of the west coast of Sumatra has the potential to develop current and wave energy compared to tidal energy, but the cost of producing tidal energy is IDR 1,571.13/kWh more economical when compared to ocean wave energy of IDR 2,193.62/kWh, and current energy sea of IDR 2,317.15/kWh."
