"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas pemikiran Liem Koen Hian, salah satu pendiri Partai Tionghoa Indonesia (PTI), tentang kedudukan orang Tionghoa di Indonesia. Skripsi ini mengambil periodisasi tahun 1919 ? 1951. Tahun 1919 adalah tahun ketika Liem mulai aktif menunjukkan pemikiran-pemikiran politiknya, sedangkan 1951 merupakan tahun ketika Liem memutuskan untuk meninggalkan arena politik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikirannya mengenai kedudukan orang Tionghoa dipengaruhi oleh kedudukan orang-orang Tionghoa sebagai minoritas perantara di Hindia Belanda dan perkembangan nasionalisme Indonesia. Dalam pemikiran Liem, kebangsaan Indonesia didasari oleh persamaan kepentingan, nasib, dan cita-cita sehingga tidak mustahil bagi peranakan Tionghoa untuk menjadi bagian dari bangsa Indonesia. Penerlitian ini juga memperlihatkan bahwa Liem adalah salah satu peletak dasar bagi bergabungnya golongan peranakan Tionghoa dalam kebangsaan Indonesia.

ABSTRACTThis thesis is explain Liem Koen Hian‟s thoughts, one of the founders of Partai Tionghoa Indonesia (PTI), about the Chinese position in Indonesia. The period of this thesis is between 1919 ? 1951. On 1919 Liem started active show his political thoughts, therefore 1951 is the year when Liem decide to leave the arena of politic. The result from this study shows that his thoughts about the Chinese position was influenced by the Chinese‟s position as the middleman minority in Dutch Indische and the development of Indonesian nationalism. In Liem‟s thoughts, Indonesian nation was based by the similarity of interest, fate, and desire until it is possible for the peranakan Chinese to be a part of Indonesian. On this study also shows that Liem is one of the founders for the peranakan Chinese to gather into the Indonesian."

"In the Dutch colonial literature of the mid nineteenth century, the njai (Asianconcubine) is the symbol of degeneration and of undermining colonial society inthe Dutch Indies. Opposed to this portrayal, in Malay literature the image of thenjai is on the whole positive: she is faithful and loyal to her partner, intelligent,and economical. However, she easily falls victim to external powers, which isoften the masculine power of the society she belongs to. In many Malay textsshe is represented as ready to fight back, primarily for the sake of the future ofher offspring(s) or herself. Sometimes she succumbs, sometimes she triumphs.Examples can be found in texts like Tjerita Njai Dasima (1896), Tjerita Nji Paina(1900), Seitang Koening (1906), Hikajat Raden Adjeng Badaroesmi (1901-1903), TjeritaNjai Isah (1904), and Boenga roos dari Tjikembang (1927). These texts represent are-evaluation of the njai and stand in opposition to nineteenth century Dutchcolonial literature"

"Tulisan ini membahas mengenai komponen-komponen arca yang terdapat pada ruang Kwan Im Tong Kelenteng Hian Tan Kong Cileungsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat ciri-ciri komponen pada arca dan mengeindentifikasinya dan melihat juga ciri komponen kebudhaan yang dimiliki oleh arca di ruang kwan Im Tong. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan terdapat 103 arca pada ruangan tersebut dan terdapat sembilan tokoh dewa pada ruang ini. Tokoh Dewa tersebut adalah Guan Shia Pu Sa, Mi Le Fo, Arahat 18, Yao Shi Fo, Shan Cai Tong Zi, Wu Liang Shou, Ru Lai Fo, Qie Lan, dan Ji Gong (Chi Kung). Arca di ruang Kwan im Tong juga wadah Hibriditas dengan mengadopsi komponen Buddha pada arca sehingga arca pada ruang kwan Im Ting memiliki ciri komponen Kebudhaan berupa Urna, Unhisa, mata Setengah terbuka, Telinga yang amat panjang, Mulut tenang, memakai pakaian keagamaan, memiliki beda kependetaan seperti tasbih, camara, kendi, mangkuk, dan berlapik padmasanaThis paper discusses the components of statues found in the room of Kwan Im Tong Temple of Hian Tan Kong Cileungsi. This study aims to look at the characteristics of the components of the statue and identify them and also see the characteristics of the cultural components that are owned by the statue in the room of Kwan Im Tong. The results of this study explain there are 103 statues in the room and there are nine deities in this room. These figures are Guan Shia Pu Sa, Mi Le Fo, Arahat 18, Yao Shi Fo, Shan Cai Tong Zi, Wu Liang Shou, Ru Lai Fo, Qie Lan, and Ji Gong (Chi Kung). The statue in the Kwan im Tong room is also a place for hybridity by adopting the Buddha component in the statue so that the statue in the room of Kwan Im Ting has the characteristics of the Buddhist component in the form of Urna, Unhisa, Half-open eyes, Very long ears, Quiet mouth, wearing religious clothes, having a different clergy such as beads, camara, jugs, bowls, and padmasana."

"The principal objective of this article is to focus on the life story of Siauw May Lie and her Views about her past. She is the daughter of the well-known, influential politician, Siauw Giok Tjhan. Between 1945 and 1965 Siauw Giok Tjhan was member of the Parliament of the Indonesian Republic and chairman of Baperki (Badan Permusyawaratan Kewarganegaraan Indonesia, 1954-1965). Her lifestory fits into the category of respondents with a cumulative migration history. As the Chinese Indonesian Heritage Center (CIHC) of the KITLV believes that the recording of life stories is a valuable addition to the collection of material heritage, the interview with Siauw May Lie about her life and opinions is an example of the interviews and part of the research conducted by the Oral History Project of the CHIC. "Wacana akademis internasional tentang modernitas seringkali mengasumsikan modernitas bersifat universal dan homogen. Tulisan ini membantah asumsi tersebut melalui penelitian tentang medikalisasi kelahiran di Bali.
