"Berdasarkan Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasional (Susenas) dan sensus penduduk sejak 2010, penelitian ini menguji pengaruh keragaman etnis terhadap ketimpangan pengeluaran di Indonesia. Ini dicapai dengan menggunakan estimasi OLS menggunakan ethnic fractionalization index (efi) dan ethnic polarization index (epoi) sebagai proksi keanekaragaman etnis. Tanpa variabel kontrol, ethnic fractionalization index adalah positif dan signifikan dalam mempengaruhi ketimpangan pengeluaran di Indonesia. Tidak seperti ethnic fractionalization index, ethnic polarization index dan ketimpangan pengeluaran memiliki hubungan berbentuk U terbalik. Namun, pengaruh keragaman etnis kurang signifikan ketika variabel kontrol ditambahkan ke estimasi. Selain itu, efek keanekaragaman etnis kehilangan signifikansinya ketika memasukkan dummy wilayah ke dalam estimasi. Kami menemukan bahwa semua dummy wilayah secara signifikan mempengaruhi ketimpangan dan mengurangi efek keragaman etnis. Akhirnya, dimasukkannya interaksi antara proxy keragaman etnis dan dummy wilayah mengungkapkan hasil yang tidak terduga. Meskipun tidak signifikan, baik interaksi ethnic fractionalization index atau ethnic polarization index dengan dummy wilayah menunjukkan hubungan negatif.

Based on the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) and population census from 2010, this study examines the effect of ethnic diversity on expenditure inequality in Indonesia. This is achieved using the OLS estimation using ethnic fractionalization index (efi) and ethnic polarization index (epoi) as the proxy of ethnic diversity. Without the control variable, the ethnic fractionalization index is positive and significant in affecting expenditure inequality in Indonesia. Unlike the ethnic fractionalization index, the ethnic polarization index and expenditure inequality have an inverted U-shaped relationship. However, the effect of ethnic diversity is less significant when control variables are added to the estimation. Additionally, the effect of ethnic diversity loses its significance when incorporating regional dummies into the estimation. We found that all regional dummies significantly affect inequality and diminish the ethnic diversity effect. Finally, the inclusion of the interaction term between ethnic diversity proxy and regional dummies reveals an unexpected result. Though not significant, both interactions of the ethnic fractionalization index or the ethnic polarization index with regional dummies show a negative relationship."

"ABSTRAKBagi masyarakat daerah kota, personal characteristic merupakan salah satu faktor yang dipertimbangkan untuk memilih pemimpin, etnis salah satunya Lieske, 1989 . Etnis bagi individu bukan hanya sebagai kelompok sosial saja, namun sebagai bagian dari identitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai peran ethnic identity sebagai moderator hubungan antara kelompok etnis dengan perilaku memilih dalam Pemilihan Gubernur DKI Jakarta 2017 Putaran kedua. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 286 orang yang terdiri dari 115 orang dengan latar belakang etnis Tionghoa dan 171 orang dengan latar belakang etnis Jawa. Data dalam penelitian ini diambil secara online sebelum pemilihan berlangsung. Hasilnya membuktikan bahwa ethnic identity tidak memiliki efek moderasi antara kelompok etnis dengan perilaku memilih dalam Pemilihan Gubernur DKI Jakarta 2017. Namun terdapat perbedaan perilaku memilih yang signifikan antara kelompok etnis Tionghoa dan Jawa dalam Pemilihan Gubernur DKI Jakarta 2017.

ABSTRACTFor urban people, personal characteristic is one of the factors considered for choosing a leader, ethnic one of them Lieske, 1989 . Ethnicity for every individual is not a social group, but one is able to further assess its attachment to the ethnic group they have. This study to assess the role of ethnic identity as a moderator relationship between ethnic groups and voting behavior in the 2017 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election. This study involved two ethnic groups to the background of the candidate for governor to be elected. Participants in the study numbered 286 people consisting of 115 people with Chinese background and 171 people with Javanese ethnic background. The data in this study was taken online before the election took place. The result present that ethnic identity has no moderate effect between ethnic group and voting behavior in Jakarta 2017 Governor Election. However, there were significant differences in voting behavior between Chinese and Javanese ethnic groups in the 2017 Jakarta Gubernur election."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang adanya pembentukan identitas etno-regionalisme pada saat pemberlakuan suatu kebijakan homogenisasi budaya oleh negara. Kebijakan tersebut dikenal dengan sebutan Thaification. Thaification lahir sebagai sebutan dari beberapa kebijakan yang bertujuan untuk menciptakan kesatuan identitas politik berbagai kelompok etnis yang tinggal di seluruh wilayah Thailand dengan menjadikan identitas Thai sebagai rujukannya. Pada awalnya Thaification merupakan insiatif Raja Chulalongkorn untuk membentuk nasionalisme yang dianggap lebih modern di Thailand, diteruskan pada rezim Perdana Menteri Phibunsongkhram dengan mengeluarkan kebijakan dengan sebutan Ratthaniyom.Penulis memfokuskan tulisan ini kepada etnis Lao-Isan yang menjadi salah satu target utama dari Thaification. Penulis akan membahas tentang geliat identitias masyarakat Lao-Isan dalam menghadapi Thaification yang cenderung menerima Thaification. Penulis berasumsi bahwa penerimaan tersebut karena adanya kepentingan mereka secara ekonomi, politik dan budaya. Oleh karena itu dalam penelitian ini penulis membuktian asumsi tersebut.

This study discusses the formation of ethno-regionalism identity at the time of implementing a policy of cultural homogenization by the state. This policy is known as Thaification. Thaification was born as a term of several policies aimed at creating the unity of political identity of various ethnic groups living in all regions of Thailand by making Thai identity a reference. In the beginning, Thaification was King Chulalongkorn's initiative to form a nationalism that was considered more modern in Thailand, continued on by the regime of Prime Minister Phibunsongkhram by issuing policies as Ratthaniyom.

The author focuses on this paper to Lao-Isan ethnic which is one of the main targets of Thaification. The author will discuss about stretching the identity of the Lao-Isan community in the face of Thaification which tends to accept Thaification. the authors assume that this acceptance is due to their economic, political and cultural interests. Therefore in this study the authors prove these assumptions."
