"Distribusi persentase PDRB Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat yang didominasi oleh sektor pertambangan dan penggalian yang menyumbangkan 88 persen dari total PDRB mengharuskan pemerintah daerah memacu perkembangan sektor lainnya. Peningkatan peran sektor lainnya haruslah didukung oleh berbagai jenis infrastruktur salah satunya transportasi udara. Yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah daerah adalah memanfaatkan sarana Bandar Udara Sekongkang, namun sampai dengan tahun 2015 bandar udara tersebut belum beroperasi sehingga perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap pengambilalihannya. Evaluasi yang dilakukan meliputi kelayakan bandar udara dari sisi tahapan proses pengambilalihan, finansial dan manfaat dari adanya bandar udara. Pada evaluasi proses pengambilalihan diketahui beberapa kelemahan yaitu tidak dilaksanakannya tahapan kajian/studi kelayakan. Dengan menggunakan analisis cost benefit analysis didapatkan hasil perhitungan B/C kurang dari 1 yang menunjukkan Bandar Udara Sekongakng tidak layak . Pembangunan bandar udara di Poto Tano sebagai opsi alternatif menghasilkan nilai B/C lebih dari 1 yang menunjukkan bahwa pembangunannya layak.

Increasing the role of other sectors should be supported by various types of infrastructure one of which is air transportation. Evaluation was conducted on the feasibility of an airport on the stage of the takeover process, and benefit financially from the airport. On the evaluation of the takeover note some weakness that is not the implementation of a feasibility study. By using analysis of cost benefit analysis showed the calculation B/C of less than 1 indicates that the Sekongkang airport is not feasible. Construction of airports in Poto Tano as an alternative option has a value of B/C more than 1 which indicates that construction is feasible."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi Sistem Pengendalian Intern Pemerintah (SPIP) dan menganalisis kelemahan ataupun kendala, serta bagaimana pelaksanaan sistem pengendalian intern tersebut dapat mendukung pencapaian kinerja pada Puslitbang Transportasi Udara. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan pengendalian intern telah memenuhi Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 60 Tahun 2008. Namun, proses pengawasan, evaluasi berkelanjutan dan pendokumentasian belum dilaksanakan secara optimal. Kelemahan unsur SPIP terletak pada lingkungan pengendalian, kegiatan pengendalian dan proses manajemen risiko. Hal tersebut sejalan dengan hasil temuan audit yang dilakukan oleh BPK dan Itjen. SPIP dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam mendukung tercapainya target kinerja yang ditetapkan, karena SPIP memastikan setiap aktivitas berjalan secara efisien dan efektif sehingga mendukung pencapaian kinerja.

This study aims to evaluate the Government's Internal Control System (SPIP) and analyze weaknesses or obstacles, as well as how the implementation of the internal control system can support the performance achievement at the Air Transportation Research and Development Center. A descriptive method of qualitative analysis is applied in the research using a case study approach. The result of this study shows that the internal control has met the Regulation of the Government Regulation Number 60 of 2008 criteria. However, the supervision process, continuous evaluation, and documentation process have not been carried out optimally. The weakness of element SPIP lies in the control environment, control activities, and risk management processes. This is in line with the findings of the audit conducted by BPK and Itjen. SPIP could contribute in supporting the achievement of the performance targets previously set, because SPIP ensures that every activity runs efficiently and effectively to support the performance achievement."

"In the post World War II era, the Mathematics Research Center (MRC) was one of the earliest comprehensive examples of collaboration between the government and a university. By taking a broad view of mathematics that embraced both the pure and applied branches, the MRC provided a model of an interdisciplinary effort that interacted very well with the spectrum of sciences. This book deals with the complex and challenging organizational and scientific issues that arose in the operation of this center.When viewed abstractly, interdisciplinary research is a good idea. Even in a broad discipline like mathematical sciences, many scientific advances have occurred at the interfaces of various sub-disciplines. However, the promotion of an interdisciplinary research in an academic environment has always been a major challenge. As the rich experience at the MRC has clearly shown, such interdisciplinary research crosses different intellectual cultures including science and engineering. The book attempts an honest assessment of how successful it was at the MRC and what attendant lessons are to be learned. But this book is not a purely historical account of what happened at the MRC. Rather, it uses history as a vehicle to draw useful conclusions for current and future generation of developers, practitioners, consumers and sponsors of applied mathematics."
