The effectiveness and efficiency of community dental health service needsupdated adequate dental health knowledge and skill. One effort to assure the fulfillment of those needs is by providing community dental health survey training. This training aims at improving the skill and capability of dental health personnel to conduct dental health survey. The training consisted of materials on community dental health survey, principles of survey implementation, and field survey activity as an integral part of the training. Survey was conducted among third grade students of Madrasah lbtidaiyah (MI) in Tangerang city. Targeting and sampling part of the survey was implemented by city health office. There were 224 students, 182 parents, and 16 teachers who were successfully examined and/or interviewed. The survey showed thatthe participants' knowledge was significantly (p<0.05) improved. The survey also showed that only 34% of students had good oral hygiene score. There were 46.9% of students who suffered Ml caries and 47.3% had caries on their permanent teeth. Parents' knowledge and attitude regarding child dental health was quite good and teachers had implemented students dental care effort. ln conclusion, the survey training model was proved to be useful to refresh the community dental health science while simultaneously obtained important data through survey. This model had never been conducted before and new breakthrough in the community dental health science refreshing activity targeted to local dental health personnel."

"Penelitian dan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang kesehatan adalah upaya untuk mengatasi masalah kesehatan di Indonesia. Tetapi pemetaan ilmu kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia belum dilakukan, sehingga penelitian yang telah dilakukan tidak dapat dinilai apakah telah sesuai dengan kebijakan dan program yang telah dirumuskan sebelumnya.Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) mencoba mengembangkan dan mengaplikasikan metode bibliometrik untuk membuat peta ilmu pengetahuan. Metoda tersebut mengkaji puluhan bahkan ratusan dokumen penelitian, sehingga memerlukan perangkat lunak untuk membantu analisis dan mengeluarkan hasilnya yaitu berupa peta dan grafik.Tujuan dari tesis ini adalah mengembangkan sistem yang dapat menganalisis ilmu kesehatan masyarakat secara bibliometrik dan menampilkan hasil analisis dalam bentuk peta dan grafik.Tesis menggunakan metodelogi pendekatan sistem yaitu dengan melakukan analisis dan perancangan prototype. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendaiam terhadap informan-informan kunci dan kajian pustaka. Sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan cara analisis isi (content analysis).Pengembangan sistem menghasilkan aplikasi basis data yang dapat menganalisis dokumen penelitian secara otomatis dengan tehnik co-word dan analisis produktivitas subjek, penulis, instansi penelitian dan kategori penulis. Output dari sistem adalah berupa peta ilmu kesehatan masyarakat secara dan grafik produktivitas.Kesimpulan dari tesis adalah sistem mampu menganalisis dokumen penelitian dengan tehnik co-word dan menampilkan hasil analisis berupa peta KIDS. Selain itu sistem juga mampu menghitung produktivitas dan menampilkan hasilnya berupa grafik produktivitas. Development of System for Mapping on Public Health in Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI)Research and development on health is an effort to solve the problems in Indonesia. However mapping on public health has not been done yet, therefore the previously researches could not be valued. It is best for the researches be suitable with the program that has been drafted before.Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) has been trying to develop and apply the bibliometrics to map the science. Those methods are using numbers of research document so need a database application to support the analysis and give the result of a map and graphic.This thesis purposes to develop a system that have capable to analysis the research documents using bibliometrics and to display the result as a map and graphic.The methodology is the system approach by doing analysis and design a prototype. Data is collected through in-depth interview of key informants and literature study, and then the data is analyzed by content analysis.This thesis yields a database application that has capable to analyze the research documents on Public Health using bibliometrics automatically. The outputs of the database application are a map by using co-word techniques and graphics of productivity.The conclusions are the database application could display a map with co-word techniques and graphics of productivity.
