"This essay examines the perceptions of Russia’s 1905 revolution in the Korean periodicals of the time. The revolution drew significant interest in Korea for a variety of reasons. First, Russia was at war with Japan, so the revolution could decisively influence the result of that war and, consequently, the fate of Korea. Second, constitutionalism was a popular topic of debate in Korea. The Russian revolution was seen as a part of the worldwide struggle constitutionalism, and as proof that the shift to constitutionalism was a worldwide trend. Third, the Russian revolution involved a struggle for either autonomy or self-determination by a variety of minorities inside the Russian Empire. Such a struggle was met with natural sympathy in Korea, given the country’s own precarious position with between the Russian and Japanese empires. The vociferous anti-Semitism and pogroms in Tsarist Russia had been widely reported in the Korean press even before the revolution, and were perceived to be among the factors that triggered it. The root cause of revolution was predominantly found in autocratic misrule and Tsarist expansionist policies. A shift to constitutionalism and rule of law was seen to be needed in Russia – and, by extension, in Korea as well. The terrorist struggle by Social revolutionaries (SR), anarchists, and assorted minority nationalist groups attracted significant attention in Korea and may well have influenced the adoption of individual terror tactics by some Korean nationalist militants at the end of the first decade of the twentieth century."

"Tugas karya akhir ini akan membahas mengenai fenomena Korean Wave dalam tiga paradigma besar ilmu Hubungan Internasional. Pembahasan tersebut bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran bagaimana fenomena tersebut layak dijadikan kajian ilmiah dengan menggunakan konsep soft power, globalisasi serta identitas sebagai perwakilan dari paradigma yang ada. Hasil yang didapat memperlihatkan bahwa Korean Wave atau yang juga dikenal sebagai Hallyu sebagai instrumen diplomasi memberikan dampak yang beragam terhadap negara asalnya yaitu Korea Selatan. Efek tersebut dapat bersifat positif seperti pada pencitraan negara serta peningkatan ekonomi atau bahkan negatif dengan lahirnya gerakan anti Korean Wave. Di lain pihak fenomena ini juga mampu mengkonstruksi identitas baru sebagai seorang penggemar atau yang biasa disebut dengan fans.

This final assignment will discuss about the phenomenon of Korean Wave from three major paradigms in International Relations. The aim of the discussion is to give an idea of how the phenomenon worth to be studied using the concept of soft power, globalization and identity as a representative of the three paradigms. The result showed that the Korean Wave or Hallyu as diplomatic instrumen of South Korea gave diverse impact to the country. These effects could be positive like nation branding and economic improvement or negative like the birth of Anti-Korean Wave. On the other hand, the phenomenon was also capable of constructing a new identity as a fan."

"ABSTRAKPenelitian dalam jurnal ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu bentuk ketidaksetaraan jender yang terjadi di Korea Selatan dilihat dari sudut pandang pekerja wanita sektor formal dan dampaknya terhadap penurunan tingkat fertilitas. Permasalahan yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah bentuk ketidaksetaraan jender yang terjadi dan dampaknya bagi pekerja wanita sektor formal di Korea Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode analisis kualitatif. Penulis menggunakan teori Peran Sosial yang dikemukakan oleh Alice Eagly sebagai teori utama untuk mendukung penelitian ini. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, terdapat dua bentuk ketidaksetaraan jender yang dihadapi oleh pekerja wanita sektor formal di Korea Selatan. Pertama, yaitu diskriminasi jumlah partisipasi kerja. Kedua, yaitu diskriminasi pendapatan. Ketidaksetaraan jender yang terjadi mengakibatkan perubahan pada pola pikir wanita di Korea. Wanita menjadi lebih memprioritaskan karir dan menunda pernikahan sehingga berdampak pada penurunan tingkat fertilitas di Korea Selatan.

ABSTRACTThe research on this journal is intended to find out the situation about gender inequality in South Korea, with the view from female workers in formal sector, and the effect it caused on the declining rate of fertility. This research focus on the inequality in gender which happens and the effect it caused on the women workers in formal sectors. The research methods used is the qualitative analysis methods. Writer used Alice Eagly rsquo s theory of Social Roles as the main theory that supports this research. Based on this research, there are two types of inequality of gender that are being faced by the female workers on formal sectors in South Korea. First, the discrimination of working participation. Second, the discrimination of income. These inequalities of gender which are happening right now changed the mindset of women in South Korea. The women, prioritize career over marriages, in result with the decline of fertility rate in South Korea day by day. "
