"Pemilihan biomaterial yang dapat digunakan dalam aplikasi bahan implan perlu berdasarkan pada kompabilitas tubuh manusia, sehingga bahan implan memiliki sifat optimal yang akan bertahan lama tanpa menunjukkan penolakan selama ditanam dalam tubuh manusia. Paduan Co-Cr-Mo merupakan salah satu bahan yang dapat diaplikasikan sebagai implan biomedis. Karena paduan ini telah memenuhi persyaratan bahan yang dapat digunakan sebagai implan tubuh, seperti ketahanan korosi yang tinggi. Sintesis paduan Co-20.3Cr-6.1Mo dengan penambahan variasi unsur mangan sebesar 5 wt% dan 7.5 wt%. Paduan diberikan perlakuan metode panas selama 65 jam pada temperatur 700 oC. Pemberian perlakuan panas diharapkan dapat meningkatkan sifat ketahanan korosi, sifat mikro dan sifat mekanik paduan. Karakterisasi dilakukan menggunakan difraksi sinar-X, serta pengujian ketahanan korosi menggunakan Potensio Dinamis dalam temperatur ruang dan temperatur 38 oC. Pola difraksi sinar-X dan ketahanan korosi menunjukkan hasil yang berbeda untuk masing-masing sampel. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa struktur dan ketahanan korosi paduan ini sangat dipengaruhi akibat adanya pemberian perlakuan panas pada paduan. Dimana paduan yang mengalami heat treatment memiliki laju korosi yang lebih baik dibandingkan spesimen tanpa mengalami heat treatment.

The selection of biomaterials that can be used in implant material applications needs to be based on human body compatibility, so that implant material has optimal properties that will last a long time without showing rejection during implantation in the human body. Co-Cr-Mo alloy is a material that can be applied as a biomedical implant. Because this alloy has met the requirements of materials that can be used as body implants, such as high corrosion resistance. Synthesis of Co-20.3Cr-6.1Mo alloy with the addition of manganese elements 5% by weight and 7.5% by weight. This alloy is given a heat treatment method for 65 hours at a temperature of 700 oC. Provision of heat treatment is expected to increase corrosion resistance, microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloy. Characterization was carried out using X-ray diffraction, as well as corrosion resistance testing using Dynamic Potensio at room temperature and 38 oC. X-ray diffraction patterns and corrosion resistance show different results for each sample. The results show that the structure and corrosion resistance of these alloys is greatly affected due to the heat treatment given to the alloy. Where the alloys undergoing heat treatment have a better corrosion rate than specimens without undergoing heat treatment."
