"[ ABSTRAK Jurnal ini membahas mengenai prinsip Shi Shi Jiu Shi sebagai landasan kebijakan Gaige Kaifang.Kebijakan Gaige Kaifang terdiri atas reformasi di berbagai sektor dan keputusan untuk membuka Tiongkokterhadap investasi asing serta melaksanakan ekonomi pasar. Meskipun keputusan ini mendapat banyaktentangan dari berbagai pihak, khususnya dari pendukung Mao, karena dianggap tidak sejalan dengan ideologisosialis yang dianut Tiongkok, Deng Xiaoping mengatakan bahwa kebijakan ini sangat diperlukan untukmensukseskan Empat Modernisasi. Prinsip Shi Shi Jiu Shi yang merupakan salah satu bagian dari Mao Sixiangdigunakan Deng sebagai ?alat? untuk menguatkan keputusan yang diambilnya dan menghadapi tentangan daripara pendukung Mao.
