"This book presents the theory of periodic conjugate heat transfer in a detailed way. The effects of thermophysical properties and geometry of a solid body on the commonly used and experimentally determined heat transfer coefficient are analytically presented from a general point of view. The main objective of the book is a simplified description of the interaction between a solid body and a fluid as a boundary value problem of the heat conduction equation for the solid body. At the body surface, the true heat transfer coefficient is composed of two parts, the true mean value resulting from the solution of the steady state heat transfer problem and a periodically variable part, the periodic time and length to describe the oscillatory hydrodynamic effects. The second edition is extended by (i) the analysis of stability boundaries in helium flow at supercritical conditions in a heated channel with respect to the interaction between a solid body and a fluid, (ii) a periodic model and a method of heat transfer simulation in a fluid at supercritical pressure and (iii) a periodic quantum-mechanical model for homogeneous vapor nucleation in a fluid with respect to nanoscale effects."

"ABSTRAK
Topi sudah menjadi salah satu mode berpakai yang banyak masyarakat pergunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, mulai dari yang berfungsi sebagai pelindung kepala dari panas matahari hingga yang sebagai pelengkap dalam berpakaian agar terlihat menarik. Akan tetapi, dengan semakin lama topi dimiliki sering sekali topi semakin terlihat tidak menarik dan hanya menjadi limbah yang dipajang begitu saja. Hal ini disebabkan oleh karena kurangnya mesin yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat untuk pemeliharaan topi. Laboratorium Perpindahan Kalor DTM FTUI menggunakan permasalahan ini untuk melakukan pembuatan alat pres topi (hat ironing) dengan menggunakan metode penguapan. Hat ironing bukanlah hal yang baru dalam perkembangan teknologi. Teknologi terbaru akan hat ironing ini telah dirancang oleh Hsiung Yi Lin (2000) dengan menggunakan steam yang dihasilkan oleh steam generator dan digerakkan oleh sistem mekanik konvensional. Pengembangan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah pada sistem penggerak utamanya dan metode penguapannya. Berbeda dengan Hsiung Yi Lin, penelitian ini lebih memilih penggunaan heatgun sebagai metode penguapannya dengan didukung oleh pneumatik sistem sebagai penggerak utama mesin.

ABSTRACT
Hat have become one of the many people dressed modes use in daily life, ranging from the function as chief protector of the sun's heat to complement the dress to make it look beautiful. But , with the longer owned hats, caps more often look unattractive and only be displayed once. Is caused by the lack of machines that can be used as a tool for hat maintenance. Laboratorium DTM Heat Transfer UI using this issue to press tool manufacture hat ( hat -ironing ) using the evaporation method. Hat ironing is not a new thing in the technology development. The latest technology will be a hat-ironing has been designed by Hsiung Yi Lin (2000 ) using the steam generated by the steam generator and driven by a conventional mechanical system. The development is carried out in this study is on the main drive system and method penguapannya. With Hsiung Yi Lin, this study prefers the use heatgun as evaporation method, supported by pneumatic system as the prime mover engine ."

"This study aimed to analyze the heat release rate from the combustion process of bioethanol from sago waste to determine the viability and feasibility of low-concentration bioethanol as an alternative fuel. The heat release rate, exhaust gas, and flame temperature were measured using a cone calorimeter, and bioethanol combustion was conducted using the pilot ignition method, with an ethanol quality range of 60–70%. The analysis that the heat release rate of 60% bioethanol combustion ranged from 20 to 140 kW/m2, while a lesser range resulted from 70% bioethanol combustion (18–45 kW/m2). The flame temperature for 60% bioethanol was found to be 440°C, while the smoke and orifice temperature was 150°C. The combustion of 70% bioethanol produced a flame temperature of 450°C and a smoke and orifice temperature of 120°C after approximately 6 min of combustion. This study contributes a solution for meeting the energy demand in rural areas, where the access to and availability of major fuel resources are limited. In addition, from the obtained results, this research concluded that bioethanol made from sago waste is suitable as a clean and alternative fuel for household applications in rural areas."
