"ABSTRAK
Pada penelitian mengenai penentuan obat pilihan berdasarkan tes kepekaan secara invitro telah diperiksa 109 strainkuman patogen, yang terdiri dari 16 strain Streptococcus viridans, 17 strain Streptococcus pneumoniae, 24 strain Staphy lococcus aureus, 22 strain Psedornonas aeruginosa, 10 strain Proteus vulgaris, 10 strain Escherichiaco1i dan 10 strain Kiebsiella pneumoniae, yang semuanya berhasil diasingkan dani para penderita yang datang di Bagian Mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta.
Tes kepekaan ini dilakukan dengan jalan membandingkan kepekaan pelbagai kuinan Patogen tersebut terhadap beberapa obàt antibiotika, yang urnurnnya digunakan untuk terapi seperti Penisum, Ampisilin, K16ksas1in, Sulbenisilin, Eritromisin,Gentamisin, Kanarnisin, Tetrasiklin, Kloramfenikol, Streptomisin dan beberapa obat termasuk golongan sulfonamida,yaitu Kotrirnoksasol, Sulfafurazin,. Sulfonamida, Sulfadiazin, Sulfatiazoidan Sulfan-tetôxazol.
Media untuk tes kepekaan kuman yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah media agar "DiagnosticSensitivity Test"(DST), seperti yang dianjurkan olehOrganisasi Kesehatan Dunia.
Hasil percobaán menunjukkan, bahwa dari semua obat antibiotika yang dicoba ternyata Gentainisin merupakan obat yang paling poten yang ternyata efektif terhadap beberapa kurnaii patogen seperti S.aureus, P.vulgaris, E.coli dan K.pneuniôniae, sedangkan dan obat golongan sulfonamida ternyata kotrimoksasol merupakan obat yang paling poten terhadap kuman patogen berikut mi : S.viridans, S.pneu.inoniae, S.aureus,P.vulgaris, E.coli, dan K.pneumoniae.
Oleh karena Kotrirnoksasol Diemiliki spektrurn antibakteri yang luas sedangkan efek sarnpingnya relatif kurang serta harganya yang juga relatif rnurah, bila dibandingkan dengan Gentamisin maka obat tersebut dalam hal-hal tertentu dapat dijadikan obat pilihan dalam terápi suatu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh kuman-kuman patogen tersebut diatas."

"Tujuan: Mengetahui perubahan sensibilitas kornea akibat perbedaan ciri insisi pada prosedur bedah katarak insisi kecil manual dan fakoemulsifikasi serta pengaruhnya terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas lapisan air mata (LAM).
Baban dan Cara: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian prospektif observasional, dilakukan pada 30 penderita katarak senilis yang akan menjalani tindakan pembedahan insisi kecil manual atau fakoemulsifikasi dengan lensa tanam rigid polymethylmethacrylate secara konsekutif. Tindakan insisi kecil manual dilakukan di Kabupaten Buleleng Bali Utara, sedangkan tindakan fakoemulsfikasi di RSCM Jakarta. Kriteria inklusi adalah subyek yang tidak memiliki riwayal inflamasi pada segmen anterior, operasi atau trauma, bukan pemakai lensa kontak, bukan pemakai obat-obatan yang dapat mengganggu lapisan air mata Pemeriksaan dilakukan sebelum pembedahan, setelah hari pertama, ke-7 dan ke-15. Pemeriksaan meliputi sensibilitas kornea di lima lokasi menggunakan estesiometri Cachet-Bonnet, tear meniscus , Nonivasive break up time (NIBUT) dan pola corakan lipid menggunakan Tearscope plus' , serta uji Schirmer. Keluhan subyektifdicatat menggunakan kuesioner dari Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDO.
Hasil: Sensibilitas menurun dimulai hari pertama setelah pembedahan sampai hari ke-15 pada kelompok fakoemulsifikasi, sedangkan pada kelompok insisi kecil manual ditemukan hanya di hari pertama setelah tindakan pembedahan. Sensibilitas kornea yang menurun ini tidak hanya pada lokasi insisi tetapi juga pada lokasi lainnya terutama pada kelompok fakoemulsifikasi, perbedaan antar kedua kelompok ini signifikan (p<0.05). Penurunan sensibilitas kornea pada kelompok fakoemulsifikasi ini mempengaruhi kuantitas LAM_ Kualitas LAM menurun pada kedua kelompok di hari pertama, dengan penurunan terbesar pada kelompok insisi kecil manual, kualilas LAM ini kembali meningkat mendekati normal sampai hari ke-I5. Keluhan subyektif kelompok fakoemulsifikasi ditemukan meningkat pada hari ke-7 dak ke-15 dan berhubungan dengan produksi air mata.
Kesimpulan: Insisi kornea di temporal pada pembedahan katarak fakoernulsifikasi menimbulkan penurunan sensibilitas kornea di lokasi insisi dan lokasi lainnya sampai hari ke-15. Penurunan sensibilitas kornea ini menyebabkan perubahan kuantitas dan kualitas LAM serta menimbulkan subyektif.

Purpose: To describe corneal sensitivity changes caused by different incision method in manual-small incision cataract surgery (manual-SICS) and phacoemulsification (phaco) and its influence to the tear film quantity and quality.
Material & Methods: A prospective observational study which examined thirthy subjects who planned to underwent cataract surgery with polymelhylmethacrylate intraocular lens concequitively. The manual-SICS group was held in North Bali and phacoemulsification in Jakarta. The inclusion criteria were subject without inflammation of anterior segment, contact lens wearer, history of eye surgery or eye trauma, nerve disorder and drugs which influence the tear film stability. The examination were prior to the surgery, first, seventh and the fifteenth day after surgery, including the five sites of the corneal sensitivity using Cochet-Bonner aesthesiometry, tear meniscus, nonivasive break up time (NIBUT) and lipid pattern using Tearseope plus-m and Schirmer test also were examined. The subjective complains were reviewed based on questionaire by Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI).
Results: Corneal sensitivity decreased in phaco group since the first day after surgery until the fifteenth day, while in the manual-SICS group the decreasing only at first day after surgery. Corneal sensitivity decreased not only at the incision site, but also on the other sites of the cornea in phaco group, the difference between two groups was significant (p<0.05). The aquous production decreased in phaco group on the seventh and fifteen days which correlated to the corneal sensitivity. The tear film quality decreased in both groups on the first day and much lower in manual-SICS group, the recovery was shown until the fifteenth day. The increasing subjective complains on phaco group correlated to the changes of the corneal sensitivity.
Conclusion: Temporal-side incision on phacoemulsification caused decreasing corneal sensitivity in the incision site and the other sites up till the 15 day. Decreasing corneal sensitivity caused changes of the tear film quantity and quality, also the complains.

"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai hubungan antara rejection sensitivity dan self-monitoring pada dewasa muda yang sedang menjalani hubungan romantis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur rejection sensitivity adalah Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire yang sudah melalui proses adaptasi, sedangkan self-monitoring diukur menggunakan Revised Self-Monitoring Scale yang diambil dari hasil adaptasi pada penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Yustisia (2012). Partisipan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 130 dewasa muda yang sedang memiliki pacar. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa rejection sensitivity berkolerasi secara negatif dengan self-monitoring (r = -0,346; p < 0,01). Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat rejection sensitivity yang dimiliki oleh individu, semakin rendah tingkat self-monitoring yang dimilikinya.

This research was conducted to find the correlation between rejection sensitivity and self-monitoring among young adults who were currently in romantic relationships. This research used the quantitative approach. Rejection sensitivity was measured using Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire which have been through a process of adaptation and Self-monitoring is measured using the Revised Self-Monitoring Scale adopted from previous reserch by Yustisia in 2012. The participant of this research are 130 young adults who were currently in a relatioship. The main result of this research showed a negative correlation between rejection sensitivity and self-monitoring (r = -0,346; p < 0,01). These results indicate that the higher rejection sensitivity of one’s owned, the lower his/her self-monitoring

"ABSTRAK
Latar belakang: Ketahanan ikatan antara resin komposit dengan
dentin merupakan penentu keberhasilan restorasi resin komposit.
Tujuan: Menganalisis EBA terhadap kekuatan ikat resin-dentin.
Metode: 48 sampel dentin dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok. Kemudian
seluruh kelompok di ukur kekuatan ikat gesernya menggunakan UTM.
Data dianalisa statistik dengan uji hipotesis Kruskal Wallis yang
dilanjutkan dengan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil: Median tertinggi
kelompok 3, sedangkan median terendah kelompok 5. Kesimpulan:
Ekstrak biji anggur yang diaplikasikan sebelum etsa dapat
meningkatkan kekuatan ikat gesek namun tidak dapat menghambat

median value was highest on group 3, and the lowest was group 5.

"Purpose: We evaluated cultured specimens from silicone tubes removed from patients with congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction and determined the antibiotic sensitives of the specimens.
Methods: This study included 26 eyes of 22 patients who had received endonasal silicone tube intubation for congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction. The removed silicone tubes were divided into canalicus, lacrimal sac, nasolacrimal duct and nasal cavity parts according to insertion state. Then, bacteria and fungus cultures were performed and rheir antibiotic sensitivity was tested.
Results: Bacteria culture rate was 80.8% in the canaliculus and the lacrimal sac, and 88.5% in the lacrimal duct, and the nasal cavity, which was not significantly higher in the nasal cavity than in the nasolacrimal duct and in the nasolacrimal duct than in the lacrimal sac and the canaliculus (p-value < 0.05). The species of cultured Gram-positive bacteria were in the following order: Staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus pneumonia and coagulase negative staphylococcus. Common species of cultured Gram-negative bacteria were Pseudomonas and Serratia marcescenes. All six species of cultured fungi were candida. Among 12 Staphylococcus aureus cultured, eight species showd resistance to methicillin (MRSA). In all patients, the symptomps and the signs of nasolacrimal duct obstruction improved after the tube removal.
Conclusions: Bacterial and fungal infection of the silicone tube in patients with congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction does not appear to affect directly the outcome of silicone tube intubation. Further studies of bacterium and fungi in the nasolacrimal duct before silicone tube intubation are needed for determining the infection causing nasolacarimal duct obstruction J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2014;55(8): 1121-1125"

"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menyelidiki beberapa senyawa kimia dari ekstrak n-heksana daun Gambia dulcis Kurz dan aktivitas antimikrobanya. Senyawa tersebut diisolasi dengan cara kromatografi kolom menggunakan silika gel sebagai fasa diam dan campuran n-heksana dan etil asetat (85 : 15) sebagai larutan pengelusi. Senyawa-senyawa hasil isolasi dimumikan dengan cara rekristalisasi. Struktur molekul dari senyawa yang sudah mumi ditentukan dengan menggunakan data spektroskopi (IR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS, dan diffraksi sinar X). Penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa ekstrak n-heksana memberikan empat senyawa bane turunan xanton, 8-hidroksi-1,4,5,6-tetrametoksi-3',3'-dimetil kromeno xanton (Gd-0), I , 4, 5, 6-tetrametoks i-3', 3'-d i m eti l krome no xanton (Gd-1), 9-hidroksi-5,6,8-trimetoksi-3',3'-dimetilkromenoxanton (Gd-2a) dan 1-hidroksi-4,5,5,8-tetrametoksi-3',3'-dimetilkromeno xanton (Gd-2b).Pada pengujian aktivitas antimikroba dengan metoda difusi memperlihatkan bahwa senyawa Gd-I dan Gd-2 (campuran Gd-2a dan Gd-2b) memberikan efek terhadap pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus.

This work was carried out to investigate some chemical constituents from the n-hexane extract of Garcinia dulcis Kurz's leaves and their antimicrobial activity. The compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel and eluted with a n-hexane-ethyl acetate system (85 : 15). The isolated compounds were purified by recrystallization. The structure of purified compounds were established using spectroscopy data (IR, UV Vs, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS and X-ray diffraction). The study showed that the n-hexane extract afforded four new xanthone derivatives 8-hydroxy-1,4,5,6-tetramethoxy-3',3'-dimethylchro menoxanthone (Gd-0), 1,4,5,6 tetramethoxy-3',3'-dimethylchromeno xanthone (Gd-I ), 1 -hyd roxy-5, 6 , 8-trimethoxy-3',3'-dimethylehromeno xanthone (Gd-2a), 1-hydroxy-4,5,6,8-tetramethoxy-3',3'-dimethylchromeno xanthone (Gd 2b) . The antimicrobial activity test showed that the Gd-1 and Gd-2 compounds (Gd-2a and Gd-2b mixture) had effect on Staphylococcus aureus.

Metode: Merupakan penelitian uji klinis tersamar ganda pada anak usia 6-9 tahun yang sudah dapat membaca di desa Suwug Kecamatan Sawan Kabupaten Buleleng,, Bali. Pengambilan subyek penelitian berdasarkan kadar vitamin A serum yang menurun (0,35-<0,70 µmol/lt) dan pemeriksaan sensitivitas kontras (<1,75 log unit). Pemberian suplemen vitamin A dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu dosis 200.000 IU dan 100.000 IU pada hari 1,2,14. Evaluasi kadar serum vitamin A dilakukan pada hari ke-21 dan sensitivitas kontras pada hari ke-8,9, dan 21.
Hasil: Sejumlah 36 (19%) anak dari 190 anak SD menderita DVA subklinis dengan sensitivitas kontras menurun. Pemeriksaan sensitivitas kontras sangat sensitive untuk diagnosa DVA subklinis (100%) terapi tidak begitu spesifik (80,5%). Didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna (p=0,00) antara sensitivitas kontras dengan kadar serum vitamin A dan didapatkan hubungan korelasi yang positif. Efek suplemen vitamin A terhadap kadar serum vitamin A dan sensitivitas kontras bermakna (p=0,00) dan tidak didapatkan perbedaan percepatan peningkatan fungsi sensitivitas kontras antar dua kelompok (p<0,05).
Kesimpulan: Pemberian suplemen vitamin A dapat meningkatkan fungsi sensitivitas kontras, dengan dosis 100.000 IU sudah mencukupi terapi penderita DVA subklinis. Pemeriksaan sensitivitas kontras merupakan alat yang sensitif untuk menditeksi DVA subkluus.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of vitamin A supplementation in increasing contrast sensitivity function of vitamin A deficiency patients. Contrast sensitivity examination can be used as a tool to detect vitamin A deficiency and the vitamin A dose variation can accelerate of sensitivity contrast function increase.
Method: The study is double blind clinical trial conducted in elementary school able to read students, aged between 6-9 years old in Suwug village, Sawan, Buleleng, district of Bali. Subject were collected based upon decreased of vitamin A serum level (0,35-<0,70 µmol/lt) and decrease function of contrast sensitivity (<1,75 log unit). The intervention of vitamin A supplementation is divided into 2 doses, 200.000 IU and 100,000 IU in day 1,2 and 14. On day 21 vitamin A serum level were evaluated and contrast sensitivity on day 8.9.21.
Result: Thirty six (19%) students from 190 were detected to be subclinical vitamin A deficiency with decreasing contrast sensitivity function. Contrast sensitivity is very sensitive to diagnose subclinical vitamin A deficiency (100%) but quite sensitive (80,5%). There was positive significant correlation (p=0,00) between contrast sensitivity with vitamin A serum level. The effects of vitamin A supplementation on vitamin A serum level and contrast sensitivity were significant (p=0,00). There were no difference in acceleration of contrast sensitivity increase between two groups (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Vitamin A supplementation may increase contrast sensitivity function with 100.000 IU dose is enough for subclinical vitamin A deficiency therapy. Contrast sensitivity examination is a sensitive tool to detect subclinical vitamin A deficiency patients."

"[ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang: Hipersensitif dentin dipengaruhi oleh akumulasi plak pada
permukaan gigi dan penetrasi bakteri pada tubulus dentin. Tujuan: Menganalisis
proporsi serotipe c Streptococcus mutans dan tingkat keasaman di dalam plak
dan saliva penderita resesi gingiva yang hipersensitif dentin dengan penderita
resesi gingiva yang non hipersensitif. Metode: Tiga puluh enam sampel plak dan
saliva dibagi dalam dua kelompok yaitu kelompok hipersensitif dan non
hipersensitif. Dilakukan ekstrak DNA sampel, pengukuran pH sampel dan
evaluasi amplifikasi serotipe c Streptococcus mutans dengan alat Real Time
PCR. Hasil: Proporsi serotipe c Streptococcus mutans di dalam plak dan
saliva tidak berbeda pada penderita resesi gingiva dengan hipersensitif
dentin maupun non hipersensitif, Kesimpulan: Proporsi serotipe c
Streptococcus mutans plak dan saliva tidak mempengaruhi hipersensitif
dentin.

ABSTRACT
Background: dentin hypersensitivity is affected by the accumulation of plaque
on the tooth surface and penetration of bacteria in the dentinal tubules.
Objective: To analyze the proportion of serotype c Streptococcus mutans and the
level of acidity in plaque and saliva of patients with hypersensitive dentin and
non hypersensitive. Methods: Thirty-six plaque and saliva samples were divided
into two groups: the hypersensitive and non-hypersensitive. Extract the sample
DNA, measure the acidity levels and evaluate serotype c Streptococcus mutans
