Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai pengaruh drama Korea terhadap minat belajar bahasa dan kebudayaan Korea di kalangan masyarakat umum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian studi literatur dan survei. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Media Effect, yaitu Uses and Gratification. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa drama Korea dapat memicu munculnya minat untuk mempelajari sesuatu. Minat yang biasanya muncul setelah menonton drama Korea di antaranya adalah minat untuk mempelajari bahasa dan kebudayaan Korea serta minat untuk berwisata ke Korea.

Hallyu is a term that refers to the phenomenon of Korean popular culture that is now worldwide. Hallyu is one of the famous hallyu products. Over time, advances in technology have made it easier for people to access Korean dramas. Korean drama is not only used as a medium of entertainment but can be used as a learning medium. This research will discuss about the effect of Korean drama and interest in learning Korean language and culture among the general public. This is a quantitative descriptive research with a literature study and survey research design. The theory used in this study is the theory of Media Effects, Uses and Gratification. The results of this study indicate that Korean drama can trigger an interest in learning something. Interests that usually arise after watching Korean dramas include interest in learning Korean language and culture and an interest in traveling to Korea."
