"Hukum qisas memberikan tidak alternatif penyelesaian konflik yaitu pembalasan yang setimpal, pemaafan dan juga diyat. Sejalan dengan upaya penyelesaian konflik yang mempromosikan rekonsiliasi sebagai penyelesaian yang damai dan humanis, dilakukan penelitian yang mencoba mencari celah dalam hukum qisas untuk dapat mewujudkannya. Pembalasan yang setimpal tentu bukan alternatif yang memenuhi kriteria tersebut, namun melalui pemaafan dan diyat terdapat kemungkinan rekonsiliasi dapat terwujud diantara korban, pelaku, dan juga masyarakat. Dalam upaya penelusuran tersebut digunakan beberapa konsep yang menjadi kerangka berpikirnya yaitu rekonsiliasi dan keadilan restoratif.

Qisas has three alternative conflict resolution. The alternative are retalation, forgiveness, and bloodmoney. In line with efforts to promote reconciliation conflict resolution as peaceful and humane solution, this research trying to find loop holes in the qisas to be able to make it happen. Retaliation in kind is certainly not an alternative that meets the criteria, but through forgiveness and blood money, reconciliation is possible can be realized between the victim, offender, and community. Reconciliation, forgiveness and restorative justice are the concepts that are used to analyze this problem."
