"Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan utama untuk mengidentifikasi tindak tutur ilokusi direktif yang ditemukan dalam cerita pendek di buku cerita anak berjudul “Zomer met Jip en Janneke”. Cerita pendek yang dipilih untuk dianalisa yaitu Heel Veel Ijsjes, Eerste Aardbeiein, De Meloen, Dat Geeft de Zon Gedaan, In de Tent, Strand, De Ogels Eten de Kersen Op, dan Teil. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk penyajian data analisis. Teori utama yang dipakai dalam studi ini adalah teori tindak tutur oleh Searle (1969). Hasil dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa ada total empat tindak tutur permintaan, dua tindak tutur saran, empat tindak tutur perintah, dua tindak tutur peringatan yang diidentifikasi melalui tokoh-tokoh dalam buku cerita. Hasil selanjutnya juga menunjukkan bahwa buku cerita anak Zomer met Jip en Janneke mengandung tindak tutur ilokusi direktif dengan jenis permintaan, saran, perintah, dan peringatan yang penggunaan masing-masing jenis dipengaruhi konteks beserta status sosial penutur dan mitra tutur. Hal ini merefleksikan hubungan orang dewasa dan anak-anak. Orang dewasa memiliki kendali lebih terhadap anak untuk mendidik dan melindungi sedangkan anak-anak membutuhkan tuntunan orang dewasa akan apa yang mereka inginkan atau lakukan.

This research has the main aim to indetinfy illocutionary speech act in the type of directive speech act found in children book story entitled “Zomer met Jip en Janneke”. The short stories selected from the book are Heel Veel Ijsjes, Eerste Aardbeiein, De Meloen, Dat Geeft de Zon Gedaan, In de Tent, Strand, De Ogels Eten de Kersen Op, and Teil. This research applied qualitative research method to present the data analysis. The ground theory used in this study is the theory of speech act by Searle (1969). The results of this study shows that there are four types of directive speech acts found in the selected short stories that consist of four requesting speech acts, two advising speech acts, four commanding speech acts, and two warning speech acts. The types of directive speech acts are found from the characters portrayed in the stories. Another result shows that the use of the mentioned directive speech acts is related to the context and social status between the speaker and listener. This further portrayed the relationship between adults and children where adults have the authorities to educate and protect children while children need the adults’ supervision in guiding them towards their desire and behavior. "
