"Tesis perancangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan model dan panduan rancang kota kawasan situ yang berketahanan menghadapi wabah, yang penerapannya dapat diduplikasi pada konteks serupa. Pendekatan ketahanan kota sistem sosial-ekologis digunakan dalam tesis perancangan ini, yaitu integrasi pemanfaatan potensi ekosistem alami kawasan yang disebut sebagai ‘servis ekosistem’ dengan elemen fisik perancangan kota, untuk mencegah penyebaran dan timbulnya wabah. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa, pemanfaatan servis ekosistem kawasan pada area sempadan situ, membantu memenuhi kebutuhan warga kota selama krisis pandemi Covid-19. Namun, kondisi ruang situ yang terisolasi akibat dari pemekaran kota inti yang tidak terencana, mengakibatkan adanya kontra ruang yang mendorong penyebaran wabah secara masif. Temuan tersebut mendasari fokus perancangan, yaitu integrasi potensi servis ekosistem kawasan dengan perancangan spasial yang mendukung mitigasi penyebaran wabah.

This design thesis aims to produce a pandemic-resilient urban development model and guidelines for the situ area that can be implemented in other similar contexts. The socio-ecological approach is used in this design thesis to integrate the benefits of natural ecosystems known as 'ecosystem services' with the physical elements of urban design to prevent the spread and emergence of pandemics. This research found that the use of ecosystem services in the riparian area helped mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 crisis experienced by local residents. However, the isolated condition of the situ space as a result of the unplanned expansion of the major city has resulted in urban space that encouraged the massive spread of the pandemic. These findings underlie the design focus, namely the integration of potential ecosystem services in situ area with the spatial design that support outbreak mitigation. "
