"Globalization is a business reality. As companies try to succeed in the international arena, the question of culture, learned behaviors, and implicit (mis- )understandings are part of the formula. Typical culture 101 training consists of a list of dos and donts that tend to reinforce negative stereotypes and increase anxiety about overseas collaboration. This book presents a new approach that addresses culture directly and is based on research from the field of neuroscience. Recognizing why we may feel anxiety and discomfort in different cultures helps us overcome those feelings. This book focuses on what every human values, the four Rs : respect, relationships, recognition, and reward."

"This paper aims to show that the traditional governance system, Lampik Empat Merdike and Sindang merdike (free men) established by the Besemah society in the past is the source of enthusiasm and democratic spirit in Besemah ethnocratic society. Besemah people's lives have changed through many different periods, from the megalithic, to the imperial, the colonial and to post-colonial (independence) periods. The kind of change that has taken place is concerned with the society?s view of diversity in various aspects, such as culture, knowledge, the world outside the ethnic community of Besemah, and education. Thus, multiculturalism is a unique characteristic of the Besemah community. There are two important aspects of multiculturalism in the Besemah community, namely: (1) interaction and communication between different cultures (Besemah and Dutch), (2) changes in public perception regarding the Besemah from local to global perceptions. These demonstrate that the community has a unique type of multiculturalism based on ethnocracy and the traditional governance system. The research shows that multiculturalism in Besemah society still exists in their daily lives and has a pragmatic function to improve the quality of life in various sectors."

"ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
The problems that often arise because of the existence of immigrants is the issue of tolerance, careness, and multiculturalism, although immigrants are not something new. The steps taken to solve immigrant problems are usually only short-term policies. Yet unknowingly, children also become victims of these issues and just get a little attention. Many people often forget that children are agents of change that can have long-term effects if their awareness of related issues is given early on. One way to generate that awareness is through narration. This research will explain how the two stories of immigrant problems in two different periods and derived from Germany entitled Bestimmt wird alles gut and Fremder Bruder present issues of tolerance, careness and multiculturalism in children's stories. To explain it, the author uses two theories, narrative strategy and sociology of literature. The results of this study indicate that good observation and proper selection of strategies from literary authors are able to explain complex issues and situations well, easily understood, and remain fun for children. Not only is fun, but this narrative strategy also has an impact on the way of thinking and attitude that children end up showing after reading the literary works."

Goodman, Lenn E.
"How can we, as people and communities with different religions and cultures, live together with integrity? Does tolerance require us to deny our deep differences or give up all claims to truth, to trade our received traditions for skepticism or relativism? Cultural philosopher Lenn E. Goodman argues that we can respect one another and learn from one another's ways without either sharing them or relinquishing our own. He argues that our commitments to our own ideals and norms need not mean dogmatism or intolerance. In this study, Goodman offers a trenchant critique of John Rawls's pervasive claim that religious and metaphysical voices must be silenced in the core political deliberations of a democracy. Inquiry, dialogue, and open debate remain the safeguards of public and personal sanity, and any of us, Goodman illustrates, can learn from one another's traditions and explorations without abandoning our own"
