"ABSTRAK
Tesis ini membahas peran work engagement dalam memediasi pengaruh transformational leadership dan job characteristic model terhadap innovative work behavior dan turnover intention pada pegawai di Lembaga Negara XYZ. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang dilakukan secara online. Responden yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini ditentukan dengan metode purposive sampling, yaitu para pegawai yang menjadi mitra perubahan atau change agent di Lembaga Negara XYZ. Responden yang terlibat sebanyak 325 orang dari lintas generasi X, generasi Y, dan Baby Boomers. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire Bass Avolio, 2004 untuk mengukur transformational leadership, Job Diagnostoc Survey Hackman Oldham, 1975; Idazak Drasgow, 1987 untuk mengukur job characteristic model, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale Schaufeli Bakker, 2003 untuk mengukur work engagement, dan Janssen 2000 untuk mengukur innovative work behavior, serta Turnover Cognition Scale Bozeman Perrewe, 2001 untuk mengukur turnover intention. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa work engagement memediasi pengaruh positif transformational leadership dan job characteristic model terhadap innovative work behavior, dan memediasi pengaruh negatif transformational leadership dan job characteristic model terhadap turnover intention. Transformational Leadership dan job characteristic model juga memiliki pengaruh positif dalam meningkatkan work engagement.

ABSTRACT
This study focus on the influence of transformational leadership and job characteristic model on innovative work behavior and turnover intention through work engagement as mediator to employees in one of State Institution in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach with online survey methods. Respondents were determined by purposive sampling method, employees who became the change agent in the State Institution of XYZ, 325 people from across generations Baby Boomers, X, and Y . The measuring tool used in this study is Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire Bass Avolio, 2004 , Job Diagnostic Survey Hackman Oldham, 1975 Idazak Drasgow, 1987 , Utrecht Work Engagement Scale Schaufeli Bakker, 2003 , Janssen 2000 , and Turnover Cognition Scale Bozeman Perrewe, 2001 . Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that work engagement mediates positive effect of transformational leadership and job characteristic model on innovative work behavior, and mediates negative effect of transformational leadership and job characteristic model on turnover intention. Transformational Leadership and job characteristic models also have a positive influence in improving work engagement."

"ABSTRAK
Makalah penelitian ini akan meneliti dimensi transaksional dan transformasional
kepemimpinan dalam organisasi internasional, dan dampaknya terhadap kinerja para pengikut. Itu gaya kepemimpinan yang dipilih akan menjadi dua teori kepemimpinan; mereka akan diselidiki untuk mengetahui mana yang lebih baik dalam memengaruhi kinerja para pengikut. Sebelumnya studi tampaknya selalu melihat hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan dan pengikut kepuasan daripada penampilan mereka dalam organisasi. Peneliti digunakan data kualitatif untuk kuesioner pertama, dan mempekerjakan yang lain untuk data kuantitatif. Namun demikian, hasil menunjukkan bahwa peneliti tidak dapat membedakan sub-dimensi dari dua gaya kepemimpinan, karena beberapa dari mereka berkorelasi satu sama lain. Hasilnya memang, namun, menunjukkan pengaruh positif pada kinerja para pengikut.

ABSTRACT
This research paper will examine the dimension of transactional and transformational leadership in international organizations, and the impact on followers performances. The selected leadership styles will be two leadership theories; they will be investigated in order to discover which one is better in influencing the followers performances. Previous studies seem always look into the relationships between leadership styles and followers satisfaction instead of their performances in organizations. The researcher used qualitative data for the first questionnaires, and employs another for quantitative data.
Nevertheless, the results show that the researcher cannot distinguish the sub-dimensions of the two leadership styles, as some of them correlate with each other. The results did, however, show positive influence on followers performances."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh transformational leadership terhadap
kinerja anggota organisasi yang dimediasi oleh variabel komitmen organisasi dan work
engagement. Pendekatan yang dipakai untuk melakukan penelitian ialah pendekatan
kuantitatif, pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner dalam
bentuk skala likert. Responden dalam penelitian ini ialah pegawai PT Kereta Api
Indonesia Daerah Operasi 5 Purwokerto yang berjumlah 115 orang. Teknik analisis data
yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan structural equation modeling
(SEM) melalui aplikasi program smartPLS. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa
transformational leadership memiliki pengaruh secara langsung maupun tidak langsung
terhadap kinerja anggota organisasi, variabel work engagement mampu memediasi
pengaruh secara tidak langsung antara transformational ledership dengan kinerja para
anggota organisasi. Sedangkan variabel komitmen organisasi tidak dapat memediasi
hubungan antara variabel kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kinerja pegawai.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to analyze how the influence of transformational
leadership on organizational member performance is mediated by variable organizational
commitment and work engagement. The approach used to conduct research is a
quantitative approach, research data collection is carried out through questionnaires in the
form of a Likert scale. Respondents in this research were 115 employees of PT Kereta
Api Indonesia Daerah Operasi 5 in Purwokerto. The data analysis technique used in this
study is using structural equation modeling (SEM) through the application of smartPLS
programs. This study found that transformational leadership has a direct or indirect
influence on organizational member performance, the work engagement variable is able
to mediate the indirect influence between transformational ledership and the performance
of organizational members. While the organizational commitment variable cannot
mediate the relationship between transformational leadership variables on employee
performance.

"Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keadilan organisasi dan kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap komitmen organisasi pengajar di Sekolah Menengah XYZ. Berdasarkan initial survey Organizational Diagnosis Questionnaire oleh Preziosi (1980) dengan 35 item (α = .884), menunjukkan terdapat masalah reward dan leadership di organisasi ini. Ini diduga dipengaruhi oleh persepsi kurangnya perlakuan adil organisasi terkait reward dan kurangnya peran atasan dalam membimbing, mendukung, menginspirasi, memotivasi, mengapresiasi, dan mempertimbangkan secara individual kepada pengajar. Ini dibuktikan dengan mengukur pengaruh keadilan organisasi dan kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap komitmen organisasi. Keadilan organisasi diukur dengan Organizational Justice Questionnaire oleh Colquitt (2001) sejumlah 20 item (α = .939), kepemimpinan transformasional dengan Transformational Leadership Questionnaire oleh Alimo-Metcalfe & Alban-Metcalfe (2001) sejumlah 19 item (α = .954), dan komitmen organisasi yang diukur dengan Organizational Commitment Questionnaire oleh Meyer & Allen (1997) sejumlah 20 item (α = .922). Hasil penelitian pada 30 orang pengajar menunjukkan variabel yang signifikan memengaruhi komitmen organisasi pengajar di organisasi ini adalah kepemimpinan transformasional ( = .444, p < 0,05). Ini berarti komitmen organisasi pengajar dipengaruhi oleh kepemimpinan transformasional. Peneliti lalu merancang intervensi pelatihan kepemimpinan transformasional dengan pendekatan experiential learning bagi atasan untuk meningkatkan komitmen organisasi pengajar.

This thesis aims to determine effect of organizational justice and transformational leadership on organizational commitment of XYZ Middle School teachers. Based on an initial survey Organizational Diagnosis Questionnaire by Preziosi (1980) with 35 items (α = 0,884), indicating there are poor condition of reward and leadership. These conditions are thought to be influenced by the lack of rewardrelated organizational justice treatment perceptions and the lack of direct supervisor's role in guiding, supporting, inspiring, motivating, appreciating, and individual considerating to the teachers. This is evidenced by measuring influence of organizational justice and transformational leadership on organizational commitment. Researcher measured using 20 items of Organizational Justice Questionnaire (α = 0,933) by Colquitt (2001), 19 items of Transformational Leadership Questionnaire (α = 0,954) by Alban-Metcalfe & Alimo-Metcalfe (2001), and 20 items of Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (α = 0,922) by Meyer & Allen (1997). The results of the study on 30 teachers showed that significant variable was affecting teachers organizational commitment is transformational leadership ( = 0,444, p < 0,05).This means that organizational commitment variable influenced by transformational leadership. Researcher then designed transformational leadership training with experiential learning approach to improve the transformational leadership ability for the supervisors and to increase the organizational commitment of the teachers."

"[ABSTRAK
Ebert & Griffin (2013) mengungkapkan bahwa transformasional
leadership berfokus pada pentingnya memimpin perubahan. Studi Herold et al.
(2008) menemukan bahwa transformasional leadership memiliki hubungan yang
lebih kuat terhadap Commitment to Change karyawan ketimbang kepemimpinan
perubahan (change leadership). Beugre et al. (2006) menyebutkan bahwa
transformational leadership tidak sekedar karakter personal pemimpin, namun
juga distimulus oleh lingkungan yang dihadapi organisasi. Sedangkan Studi Nasir
et al. (2014) menyebutkan bahwa faktor eksternal mempengaruhi Commitment to
Change karyawan. Terkait hal itu, penelitian ini ingin megetahui pengaruh
lingkungan perusahaan (task environment) terhadap Commitment to Change
karyawan dan bagaimana peran transformational leadership diantara keduanya.
Penelitian ini dilakukan pada PT. KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (PT. KCJ),
yaitu anak perusahaan PT. Kereta Api Indonesia yang menyelenggarakan
pengusahaan pelayanan jasa angkutan kereta api commuter dengan menggunakan
sarana kereta rel listrik (KRL) di wilayah Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang
(Serpong) dan Bekasi. Sebanyak 101 kuisioner dibagikan kepada seluruh
karyawan tetap pada level pelaksana (staff 2 s/d senior supervisor) PT. KCJ yang
berkantor di kantor pusat Stasiun Juanda, dan kuisioner yang kembali sebanyak
68. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa transformasional leadership memediasi
penuh hubungan tidak langsung antara task environment dengan ketiga dimensi
Commitment to Change (Affective, Continuance, dan Normative).

"Berdasarkan kajian yang sudah ada yang berkaitan dengan kepemimpinan dalam berorganisasi, kepemimpinan transformasional terdiri dari tiga unsur yang penting: pengaruh ideal, pertimbangan individual dan stimulasi intelektual. Penelitian yang sudah ada fokus dalam kemampuan para pemimpin untuk benar-benar menerapkan proses transformasional dalam melaksanakan fungsi-fungsi organisasi yang mungkin memiliki dampak yang signifikan pada aspek psikologis individu terutama dalam komitmen berorganisasi. Meskipun hubungan ini telah dipelajari, peran mediasi pemberdayaan psikologis kurang ditekankan dalam model kepemimpinan berorganisasi. Tujuan dari makalah ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh pemberdayaan psikologis dalam hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformational dan komitmen berorganisasi. Metode survei digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dari karyawan yang bekerja di sebuah perusahaan manufaktur asing di zona perdagangan bebas, Malaysia. Hasil analisis model jalur SmartPLS mengkonfirmasi bahwa pemberdayaan psikologis bertindak sebagai variabel mediasi penting dalam hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformasional dan komitmen organisasi dalam organisasi yang dikaji. Selanjutnya, diskusi, implikasi dan kesimpulan akan turut dijelaskan.

According to recent literature that relates to organizational leadership, transformational leadership consists of three important elements: idealized influence, individual consideration, and intellectual stimulation. Extant studies in this area highlighted that the ability of the leaders in implementing these transformational processes (to execute organizational functions) may have a significant impact on individual outcome especially organizational commitment. Although this relationship has been studied, the mediating role of psychological empowerment has taken a less prominent part in organizational leadership model. The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of psychological empowerment in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment. A survey method was employed to gather data from employees who worked at a foreign manufacturing company in free trade zone, Malaysia. Results of SmartPLS path model analysis confirm that psychological empowerment does act as an important mediating variable in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment in the studied organizations. In the succeeding sections, discussion, implications and conclusion are elaborated."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap budaya organisasi pada perusahaan pelayaran armada kapal PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk. Penelitian ini merujuk pada penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Edward E. Smith (2009), yaitu menganalisis hubungan gaya kepemimpinan, budaya sosial, dan budaya organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 4 dimensi kepemimpinan transformasional dari Bass dan Avolio, serta menggunakan 4 dimensi budaya organisasi pada perusahaan tempat penelitian.
Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara survey, yang menggunakan kuesioner. Populasi terdiri dari 109 orang, yang berarti menggunakan total sampling. Peneliti menggunakan factor analisis untuk mengukur validitas dan Cronbach's alpha untuk realibilitas. Untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh atau tidaknya pada kedua variabel peneliti menggunakan metode regresi linier sederhana.
Penelitian ini berdasarkan dari 95 responden yang berhasil dikumpulkan dengan metode survai. 109 kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada karyawan PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kembali adanya pengaruh signifikan positif antara gaya kepemimpinan transformasional dan budaya organisasi.

This study focuses on finding the effect of Transformasional Leadership style to organizational culture at Shipping Company in PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk. This research is refer to the dissertation of Edward E. Smith (2009), which mention the relation between organizational culture, societal culture and leadership style.Research used 4 (four) dimension from Bass and Avolio for transformational leadership style and 4 (four) dimension from the company itself for organizational culture.
This research used quantitative method. Data were collected by survey, namely by questionnaire. Population amounted to only 109 people; hence level of sample is equal with level population. Researcher used factor analysis to ensure validity of research and Cronbach's alpha for reliability. To measure the effect of transformational leadership style to organizational culture was using the simple linier regression.
This research is based on 95 respondent from 109 questioner to the employee of PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk.Result revealed that correlation between transformational leadership style and organizational culture at shipping company in PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk

"Penelitian ini berfokus pada usaha untuk meningkatkan affective commitment to change pada karyawan Teknisi melalui transformational leadership atasan di perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang solusi ketenagalistrikan. Berdasarkan penggalian data awal, masalah yang muncul adalah adanya kecenderungan normative commitment to change karyawan Teknisi dalam mematuhi peraturan kedisiplinan akibat gaya kepemimpinan yang cenderung transactional, sehingga mereka patuh hanya jika merasa diawasi dan akan menerima punishment untuk pelanggaran yang dilakukan. Peneliti mengukur korelasi antara transformational leadership dan affective commitment to change dengan 18 orang partisipan Teknisi. Alat ukur transformational leadership yang digunakan pada penelitian ini (α = 0,980) diadaptasi oleh Rubin et al. (2005) yang berdasar pada alat ukur yang dikembangkan oleh Podsakoff et al. (1996). Sementara, alat ukur affective commitment to change yang digunakan (α = 0.809) merupakan versi adaptasi dari alat ukur commitment to change yang digunakan dalam penelitian Herscovitch dan Meyer (2002). Berdasarkan uji korelasi Kendall?s Tau (τ), diperoleh koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,606 (LOS 0,01), yang menunjukkan bahwa transformational leadership atasan berhubungan secara signifikan dengan affective commitment to change karyawan. Untuk itu dilakukan sebuah intervensi berupa workshop transformational leadership untuk meningkatkan perilaku transformational atasan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan affective commitment to change pada bawahan. Peneliti melakukan evaluasi workshop level dua dengan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat peningkatan skor perilaku transformational atasan, meskipun tidak signifikan (Z = -1,826, p > 0,05).

This study is focused on the effort to improve affective commitment to change among Technicians through Coordinator?s transformational leadership in a company of power solution business. Based on initial diagnosis, the existing problem can be attributed to the tendency of normative commitment to change among Technicians in complying to discipline regulation as a result of superiors? transactional leadership style, which causes Technicians comply only when they perceive as being monitored and will receive punishment for violating the regulation. The correlation between transformational leadership and affective commitment to change was measured with 18 Technicians as participants. The transformational leadership instruments used in this study (α = 0,980) was adapted by Rubin et al. (2005) based on the one developed by Podsakoff et al. (1996), while the instrument used to measure employee affective commitment to change (α = 0.809) was an adapted version from the one used in Herscovitch and Meyer?s (2002) research. Based on Kendall?s Tau (τ) correlation test, correlation coefficient of 0,606 (LOS 0,01) was found, showing that superiors? transformational leadership is significantly and positively correlated to employees? affective commitment to change. Based on this result, an intervention program was conducted in the form of transformational leadership workshop to improve superiors? transformational leadership behavior, aimed at the improvement of employee affective commitment to change. The researcher conducted a second level workshop evaluation using the Wilcoxon?s Signed-Rank Test, showing that there was an increase in superiors? transformational behavior score, but not significant (Z = -1,826, p > 0,05)."

"Tesis ini membahas mengenai apakah terdapat pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transformasional pada keterikatan karyawan dan komitmen organisasi pada PT. PNM. Hasil penelitian oleh Andretta (2010) mendapatkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterikatan dan komitmen organisasi. Freeborough (2012) mendapatkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterikatan namun tidak secara langsung mempengaruhi komitmen organisasi.
Peneliti menggunakan pengumpulan data kuesioner kepada karyawan kantor pusat PT. PNM dan melakukan pengolahan data menggunakan software Lisrel. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapatnya pengaruh dari gaya kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap keterikatan pegawai dan komitmen organisasi pada PT. PNM.

This thesis explores whether there is an effect of transformational leadership appliance style on employee engagement and organizational commitment on PT. PNM. The results by Andretta (2010) found that leadership style has significance influence on engagement and organizational commitment. Freeborough (2012) found that leadership style has a significance effect on engagement but does not directly affect organizational commitment.
Researchers used data collection questionnaires to employees of the headquarters of PT. PNM and perform data processing using Lisrel software. Results from this study is that transformational leadership style has an significance effect on employee engagement and organizational commitment on PT. PNM.
