"The objective of this study is to assess whether recent marital discussion on family planning is associated with contraceptive use among young couples residing in rural Maharashtra, India. The study methods used involved analysis of baseline data collected from 867 couples participating in the CHARM Family Planning evaluation trial. Participants were surveyed on demographics, contraceptive behaviour, and a six-item scale on marital discussions concerning family planning (including family size and contraceptive use) over the preceding six months. Multivariate logistic regression analysis assessed associations between marital family planning discussions and current modern contraceptive use for birth spacing, adjusting for demographics. The results revealed that 22.0 per cent of women reported current use of modern contraceptives for birth spacing. Nearly half (46.4 per cent) of women reported 'high marital family planning discussion/ based on a median split dichotomizing the scale as high or low. Women who reported 'high discussion' on family planning compared to those with low discussion' were seven times more likely to use modem contraceptives for birth spacing (45.4 per cent 9.8 per cent; adjusted odds ratio = 7.1, 95 per cent, confidence interval = 4.9 - 10.3). In conclusion, the findings support promotion of marital family planning counselling to improve contraceptive use among young rural married couples."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang peranan lembaga Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Berencana Nasional dalam memasyarakatkan program Keluarga Berencana pada masa orde baru, sehingga dapat mencapai keberhasilan secara signifikan. Tingkat keberhasilan Keluarga Berencana Nasional dalam penelitian ini dapat dilihat dari program-program yang dibuat oleh lembaga BKKBN serta bagaimana bentuk pelaksanannya di dalam masyarakat pada masa Orde Baru. Keberhasilan program Keluarga Berencana tersebut tidak luput dari adanya dukungan jaringan-jaringan yang didapat baik dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Fungsi dari dibentuknya jaringan itu sendiri yakni memudahkan BKKBN dalam memasyarakatkan program Keluarga Berencana. Selain itu kita juga dapat mengetahui peran serta bentuk kerja sama dari masing-masing jaringan baik dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri yang turut membantu program Keluarga Berencana hingga mencapai tingkat keberhasilan.

This Research talks about the role of Coordinating Agency of National Family Planning in Delivering Family Planning in the New Order, until they can reaches the significant success. In this Research, National Family Planning success rate can be seen from the Programs created by The Agency of National Family Planning as well as how the implementation in the form of society in the New Order. The successful of Family Planning program wasn’t releasing from the support from domestic networks and also foreign networks. The function of formation of the network it self to help the Agency of National Family Planning to delivering the family planning program. More over, we can exactly know about the role of the contribution of each networks from domestic networks and foreign networks that helped the family planning programs to achieve the level of success."

"Skripsi ini membahas faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan unmet need KB di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan analisis lanjutan SDKI 2012. Desain penelitian ini adalah potong lintang pada WUS berumur 15-49 tahun yang sudah menikah atau hidup bersama. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa kejadian unmet need KB lebih banyak pada wanita yang berpendidikan tinggi, bekerja, memiliki tingkat ekonomi tinggi, kelompok umur tua, hidup di wilayah perkotaan, menginginkan jumlah anak ideal > 2 orang, tidak berniat menggunakan KB, tidak berperan dalam pengambilan keputusan, memiliki pengetahuan kurang tentang KB, tidak mendapat kunjungan petugas KB dan tidak pernah mendapatkan paparan media massa.

The study explains about factors affecting unmet need for family planning in Indonesia. The study is continued analysis of SDKI 2012. Design of the study is cross sectional on married woman or in union age 15-49 years old. The result proves that unmet need related with high educational level, employed, high economics level, old woman, live in urban area, wants ideal number of children > 2, doesn’t intend to use contraception, doesn’t play a role in decision making, has low level of konwledge about FP, never visited with FP worker and never exposed mass media about FP."

"ABSTRAKBeberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi unmet need yaitu umur, pendidikan, jumlahanak masih hidup, usia kawin, tempat tinggal, pengetahuan tentang KB, dan statuspekerjaan responden, sikap suami terhadap KB, pernah pakai KB, aktivitasekonomi dan indeks kesejahteraan hidup. Metode penelitian cross sectionaldengan menggunakan sampel PUS sejumlah 1249 jiwa. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan status unmet need KB Provinsi Banten 12,00%. Sebagian besarresponden mendapatkan pelayanan yang baik terhadap KB sebesar 66,2%. Adahubungan yang signifikan antara pelayanan KB dengan status unmet need padakelompok alasan tidak ber-KB karena alasan non kesehatan (CI 95% 2,3-47,6).Disarankan agar lebih meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas tenaga kesehatan,petugas lapangan KB, dan kader kesehatan dalam rangka penyebaran informasimelalui media sosial dan massa, serta diadakan program atau kegiatan yangsasarannya adalah pria karena memiliki peran penting dalam proses pengambilankeputusan dalam ber-KB

ABSTRACTSome factors affecting unmet need are age, education, number of children stillalive, age of marriage, residence, knowledge of family planning, and employmentstatus of respondent, husband's attitude toward family planning, use familyplanning ever, economic activity and life welfare index. The cross sectionalresearch method using EUS sample is 1249 people. The results showed the unmetneed status of KB province of Banten 12.00%. Most of respondents get goodservice to KB by 66,2%. There was a significant correlation between familyplanning services with unmet need status for non-family planning group for nonhealthreasons (95% CI 2.3-47.6). It is suggested to increase the quality andquantity of health workers, field officers, and health cadres in order to disseminateinformation through social media and mass, and held programs or activities whosetarget is male because it has an important role in the decision-making process infamily planning."
