"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai hubungan antara psychological well-being dan identitas nasional pada remaja yang tinggal di kawasan perbatasan Indonesia dan Malaysia. Sebagai tambahan, penelitian ini juga dilakukan untuk melihat gambaran tingkat psychological well-being dan identitas nasional pada remaja di kedua negara tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Psychological well-being diukur menggunakan Ryff?s Scale of Psychological Wellbeing yang diadaptasi dari penelitian sebelumnya oleh Sapto Ashardianto dkk di tahun 2012 sedangkan identitas nasional diukur menggunakan Collective Self- Esteem. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 298 orang yang terdiri dari 149 orang Malaysia dan 149 orang Indonesia. Hasil utama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa psychological well-being berkorelasi secara signifikan dengan identitas nasional (r = 0.624; p = 0.000, signifikansi pada L.o.S 0.01) untuk responden Indonesia sedangkan pada Malaysia (r = 0.607; p = 0.000, signifikansi pada L.o.S 0.01). Hal ini berarti, semakin tinggi tingkat psychological well-being seseorang maka menunjukkan semakin tinggi pula identitas nasionalnya.

This study was conducted to find the correlation between psychological well-being and national identity in adolescence that lives in the border area of Indonesia and Malaysia. In addition, this research also aimed to depict psychological well-being and national identity among adolescence in these countries. This research used quantitative approach. Psychological well-being was measured using the Ryff 's Scale of Psychological Well-being adopted from previous research by Sapto Ashardianto et al. in 2012, and national identity was measured using the Collective Self-Esteem.
