"Kepribadian terejawantahkan melalui banyak hal dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, salah satunya adalah penggunaan kata. Penggunaan kata dinilai mampu merefleksikan kepribadian melalui tulisan terkait apa yang dipikirkan, dirasakan, dan dialami. Sekarang ini, penggunaan kata dalam kehidupan sehari-hari juga dapat dilihat melalui media sosial, salah satunya twitter. Hanya saja, twitter bersifat area publik dimana terdapat kontrol dari pengguna dalam menampilkan kata-kata yang dicantumkan status updates sehingga berpeluang adanya persentasi diri dalam dunia maya. Untuk itu, penelitian melihat perbedaan antara kepribadian Big Five Factor yang diukur melalui Big Five Inventory dengan analisa penggunaan kata pada status updates twitter. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kepribadian antara hasil pengukuran BFI dengan kepribadian berdasarkan analisis penggunaan kata pada dimensi Openness, Conscientiousness, Extravertion, Agreeableness, dan Neuroticism.

Personality reflected through many things in everyday life, one of them is word use. Word use is considered able to reflect the personality through writing related what is thought, felt, and experienced. Today, word use in everyday life can also be seen through social media, one of them is twitter. However, twitter is a public area that have a control of user in displaying the words in status updates so that there is a chance of self-presentation in the virtual world. Therefor, the study look a difference between the Big Five Factor of personality as measured by the Big Five Inventory and analyzing word use in status updates twitter. The results show that there is a difference between the measurement results of BFI personality and personality analysis based on word use on Openness, Conscientiousness, Extravertion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism."
