The need for housing is an increasingly high demand, especially in urban areas where demographic changes are dominated by the productive age of the millennial generation. Millennials who live in urban areas are faced with the urgency of home ownership. However, the limited housing options in urban areas are emphasized only between landed housing and high-rise apartments, hence this creates a gap between housing options. The gap is a type of medium-sized housing called Mid-sized Housing. The mid-sized type with its characteristics and advantages can be the suitable alternative housing choice for the millennial housing supply. In addition, dense and expensive urban dwellings encourage housing to be more affordable for the millennial generation, and housing should also meet their preferences for an accessible quality of life and high community value. Therefore the question arises whether mid-sized housing can be a solution that answers the issues and needs of the millennial generation. This topic aims to understand the priorities of the millennial generation in choosing houses in urban areas, as well as understand mid-sized types in providing availability, affordability, and quality of life for the millennial generation. This topic is deepened by analyzing the design quality and the essence of inhabiting mid-sized housing types in millennial households. Further obtaining compatibility between the characteristics and the housing needs of millennials."
