"ABSTRACTLatar belakang penelitian ini berasal dari keinginan The Japan Foundation untuk mengaplikasikan Marugoto ke seluruh lembaga pembelajaran bahasa Jepang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecocokan buku ajar Marugoto di Program Studi Jepang, Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya, Universitas Indonesia jika dibandingkan dengan Minna no Nihongo dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis evaluasi buku ajar dengan memakai kerangka analisis dan evaluasi Andrew Littlejohn sebagai dasar penelitian. Objek penelitian pada tulisan ini adalah buku Marugoto level A2 versi Katsudou dan Rikai, serta buku Minna no Nihongo Shokyuu II. Penentuan objek penelitian berdasarkan fakta lapangan bahwa Program Studi Jepang FIB UI memakai Minna no Nihongo sebagai buku ajar bahasa Jepang bagi pemula. Analisis dilakukan dengan tiga tahap, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Marugoto tidak bisa menggantikan Minna no Nihongo sebagai bahan ajar bahasa Jepang bagi pemula di Program Studi Jepang, Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya, Universitas Indonesia. Akan tetapi, Marugoto bisa menjadi buku penunjang Minna no Nihongo untuk latihan percakapan.

ABSTRACTBackground of this research is the passion from The Japan Foundation to apply Marugoto to all Japanese language learning institutions. This research aims to understand the compatibility of Marugoto on Japanese Studies at Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia if compared with Minna no Nihongo on Japanese language learnings. This research is to evaluate learning materials with Andrew Littlejohn rsquo s framework for learning material analysis and evaluation as the basis of research. Object of this research is Rikai and Katsudou version of Marugoto level A2, and Minna no Nihongo Shokyuu II. Object of research is selected based on fact that Minna no Nihongo is used as materials for beginner learners in Japanese Studies at Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia. Analysis is done in three stages, followed by an evaluation. The results shows that Marugoto cannot replace Minna no Nihongo as material for Japanese Studies at Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia rsquo s Japanese language learning. However, Marugoto can be a supplementary materials for Minna no Nihongo on conversation exercise."
