"This volume focuses on the role of motivational processes – such as goals, attributions, self-efficacy, outcome expectations, self-concept, self-esteem, social comparisons, emotions, values, and self-evaluations– in self-regulated learning. It provides theoretical and empirical evidence demonstrating the role of motivation in self-regulated learning, and discusses detailed applications of the principles of motivation and self-regulation in educational contexts. Each chapter includes a description of the motivational variables, the theoretical rationale for their importance, research evidence to support their role in self-regulation, suggestions for ways to incorporate motivational variables into learning contexts to foster self-regulatory skill development, and achievement outcomes."

"Managers who create positive, rewarding, high-energy environments reduce absenteeism and turnover while dramatically increasing productivity and quality.
This title reveals how to: ensure employees look forward to coming to work and feel passionate about what they do; challenge them with tasks that allow them to stretch; and more.

Social engineering is a digital, non-technical threat that target aspects of human interaction to fool it’s victim and achieve some purpose. Social engineering attacks such as phishing email, suspicious link, or impersonation of trusted entity may target anyone. One group of people that may fall victim to social engineering are school teachers. The effect of falling into social engineering in teacher might be more severe than usual, due to the teacher’s access to student’s and their own sensitive data. One method to understand social engineering is through studying it in personal or training setting. This research aims to determine the factors that affect teacher’s motivation in studying social engineering. Protection motivation theory (PMT) is used as the basis of theory. This research tests the variables of PMT models to determine whether PMT can be used to explain teacher’s motivation in studying social engineering. The research model is created by studying existing PMT research with social engineering context. This research is successful in obtaining 204 respondents which consisted of school teachers in Indonesia. Data analysis is done using PLS-SEM method assisted by SmartPLS 3 application. Hypothesis testing result proves that perceived severity and perceived vulnerabilities are positively related with fear. However, fear is not proven to be positively related with behavioral intention. self efficacy, response efficacy, and personal responsibility variables are also proven to be positively related with behavioral intention.

As the use of m-banking services expands, the threat of information security for the public also increases. M-banking service providers have developed solutions in the form of biometric security system (BSS) technology to counter these threats. This study aims to examine the factors influencing the acceptance of BSS technology as a security option in m-banking and the moderating effects of innovativeness and education levels. In conducting this research, the author combines two theories: protection motivation theory (PMT) and theory of planned behavior (TPB). This study uses a mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential design. The quantitative approach was conducted by distributing online questionnaires, successfully obtaining responses from 535 users who use BSS in m-banking, and then processed using covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). Following this, the qualitative approach involved interviewing 10 participants, analyzed using content analysis. The research findings revealed that perceptions of effectiveness, attitudes, abilities, and social influence significantly affect users' motivation to use BSS in m-banking. Conversely, perceptions of vulnerability, seriousness, and effort do not influence m-banking users' motivation to use BSS. The moderation effect test showed that the perception of BSS effectiveness has a greater impact on innovative individuals, while perceptions related to the seriousness of threats have a greater impact on individuals with lower education levels. The results of this study are expected to benefit m-banking service providers by highlighting the key factors underpinning the acceptance of BSS technology in their services."
