"This book presents several theories and techniques that can be used to improve how buildings are engineered and designed in order to utilize more sustainable construction methods while promoting the health of the building's occupants.
Contributions to the study of environmental design have come from a diversity of fields including applied mathematics, optimization, computer science, medical research, psychology, management science, architecture, and engineering. The techniques developed in these areas of research can be used to increase building performance, occupant satisfaction, productivity, and well being, and reducing the incidence of health conditions and chronic diseases related to the use of a designed space."

Energy consumption from fossil fuels (petroleum) has been increasing day by day, causing a rise in environmental impacts, especially the Global Warming Potential (GWP). Indonesia has implemented policies to reduce the use of petroleum fuels as an effort to lower emissions. However, the use of petroleum as an energy source, especially natural gas, is predicted to always remain the largest compared to the use of New Renewable Energy (NRE). PT AMM, as one of the largest gas producers in Indonesia, conducted an analysis to identify hotspots in the life cycle activities of natural gas production using OpenLCA software and the ReCiPe methodology. Additionally, this study aims to analyze the comparative environmental impact results between the ReCiPe and IMPACT 2002+ methodologies. The life cycle of natural gas production at PT AMM for every 1 MMSCFD of natural gas product at Site A field resulted in a Global Warming Potential (GWP) impact of 4,885 kgCO2-eq, Particulate Matter Formation (PM) of 0.30 kgPM2.5-eq, Ozone Formation (OF) of 1.50 kgNOx-eq, and Terrestrial Acidification (TA) of 1.00 kgSO2-eq. Meanwhile, at Site B field, the GWP impact was 3,555 kgCO2-eq, PM of 0.52 kgPM2.5-eq, OF of 3.36 kgNOx-eq, and TA of 1.72 kgSO2-eq. The hotspot at Site A originated from the WHB-TOX stage, while at Site B it came from Inlet-Separation.The comparative analysis results of impact from the methodologies between ReCiPe and IMPACT 2002+ for GWP impact statistically showed no significant difference for both study locations because they refer to the same calculation model. For TA impact, statistically, Site A showed a significant difference, while Site B did not show a significant difference. The inconsistency in TA impact results is due to differences in the reference calculation models."
