"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sistem akuntasi biaya tradisional yang sekarang diaplikasikan oleh perusahaan manufaktur X. Sistem ini dirasa memerlukan sebuah perbaikan ke metode yang lebih menghasilkan informasi yang lebih akurat dan tidak misleading untuk pengambilan keputusan manajemen, seperti metode activity-based costing. Rekalkulasi dengan menggunakan metode yang baru akan dilakukan sehingga kemudian akan diketahui beberapa rekomendasi manajerial yang mungkin dapat dilakukan untuk menghasilkan nilai tambah pada perusahaan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan studi kasus pada divisi produksi non uang perusahaan manufaktur X dengan mengumpulkan berbagai data primer terkait proses pembentukan costing dan observasi langsung ke lapangan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan adanya ketimpangan alokasi biaya antara produk satu dengan produk lainnya yang mengarah ke kekeliruan interpretasi profitabilitas perusahaan akan suatu produk.

The research aims to evaluate traditional, direct labor volume-based cost accounting system which is currently applied by Company X. This system might need to be upgraded to a more accurate and non-misleading result method that is important for managements decision making, such as activity-based costing. This study is to be done by recalculating the cost using the new method as the result is expected to be a set of useful value-adding recommendations to the management. This is a case study regarding companys non-money division by gathering primary data to form current costing and direct field observation. The result shows deviation between one product cost allocation to the others which leads to interpretation bias regarding companys profitability of some products."

"The lack of standardised guidelines for the preparation and submission of work schedule has contributed to several problems in construction project especially the extra efforts that have to be put in before parties involved in the project accept the work plan. This paper explores the current practice in project scheduling in the Malaysian construction industry and proposes guidelines that will alleviate the current problems in project scheduling. The methodology adopted was through interviews and questionnaire survey. The findings of the survey form a basis for the formulation of the guidelines. It consists of four main aspects of project scheduling which are process of acceptance of work schedule, responsibilities of the contracting parties, application of work schedule, and implications of work schedule. With the establishment of these guidelines a standardised approach for the preparation and submission of work schedule can be achieved thus will be able to minimise some of the problems that are currently hinder the full application of project scheduling in various construction projects. The proposed guidelines will pave the way for the inclusion of work schedule as part of the contract document."
