"Mulai dan pertengahan tahun 1970-an sampai dengan pertengahan tahun 1990an terdapat kecenderungan menurunnya rasio upah antara tenaga kerja terampil dengan tenaga kerja tidak terampil di sektor manufaktur. Perkecualian dan kcendrugnan ini terjadi salama paruh kedua tahun 1980-an ketika rasio upah pada waktu itu meningkat.Kajian ini menemukan bahwa kecendemngan jangka panjang menurunnya rasio upah antara tenaga kerja terampil dengan tenaga kerja tidak terampil tersebut didorong oleh terus meningkatnya penawaran relatif tenaga kerja terampil. yang dihasilkan dari terus berlanjutnya perluasan sektor pendidikan. Sebaliknya peningkatan rasio upah antara tenaga kerja terampil dengan tenaga kerja tidak terampil selama paruh kedua tahun 1980-an disebabkan oleh meningkatnya permintaan relatif terhadap tenaga kerja terampil secara besar dan cepat dalam periode tersebut. Peningkatan permintaan relalif terhadap tenaga kerja terampil ini timbul karena deregulasi perekonomian yang dilakukan pada saat itu menghasilkan perluasan secara cepat dan sektor-sektor modern dalam perekonomian Indonesia."

"In the developing world, standard measures of occupational segregation by sex may be deeply misleading because of structural, cultural and historical differences between developing countries and the developed countries that often feature in studies of segregation. In Jamaica in particular, the legacy of slavery has made female labour an integral part of the workforce for centuries ? whereas large-scale female participation in the developed countries can only be measured in decades. The authors find that the country's large, undifferentiated pools of unskilled labour ironically translate into lower levels of occupational segregation, with women outpacing men in the professional categories."

"This article uses a variation of the Solow model that weredeveloped by Alonso, Echevaria and Tran (2004) to explore theinterrelations between the labor market and the economic growth. It con beproven that both analytically and empirically, income and capitol perworker in the development-store (ASEAN Countries) depend positively onflexibility of the labor market that the development state unemployment role depends positively on the rare of population growth and theproductivity growth rate and negatively on the savings rate and flexibilityof the labor market, and, finally, that labor market flexibility affectsconvergence toward developing countries. The paper also discusses theeconomic implications of these result sigma convergence."
