"Pulau Enggano yang memiliki keterbatasan di bidang pelayanan medis dan penggunaan lahan memerlukan fasilitas yang mampu menunjang dan mengingkatan pelayanan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa dan membandingkan kelayakan ekonomi dan waktu pembangunan rumah sakit terapung dengan metode konversi barge second-hand dan pembuatan desain lambung baru rumah sakit terapung sebagai gagasan pengingkatan taraf kesehatan penduduk Pulau Enggano. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang cukup signifikan dari sisi cost dan lama pengerjaan antara konversi barge second-hand menjadi rumah sakit terapung jika dibandingkan dengan pembangunan rumah sakit terapung menggunakan desain lambung baru. Untuk memenuhi beberapa persyaratan yang wajib dipenuhi berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor 24 Tahun 2014, penulis menyarankan agar sebaiknya perancangan rumah sakit terapung untuk Pulau Enggano menggunakan desain lambung baru.

Enggano Island has limitations in the term of medical services and land use and requires a facility that can support and improve health conditions for the native. This study aims to analyze and compare the economic and time feasibility of floting hospital as an idea to increase the health care for the people of Enggano Island that apply conversion to a second hand barge and floating hospital that uses a newly designed hull. This research conducts a quantitative method with a descriptive design. The results shows that there was a significant difference in the cost and time consumed between the conversion of second hand barge to floating hospital when compared with a newly designed hull. To fulfill many requirements from the Regulation of the Minister of Health of Republic Indonesia No. 24 year 2014, author suggest that the design that should be used with the newly designed hull floating hospital."
