"Imam Muslim adalah ahli hadits yang lahir di Naisabur pada tahun 202 H dan meninggal pada tahun 216 Hijriah. Kelebihannya berupa ketajaman berpikir dan ingatan hafalan, membuatnya mudah untuk menuntut ilmu terutama ilmu mengenai Al-Quran dan hadits. Beliau belajar ilmu hadits dan sering mengunjungi ulama-ulama ahli hadits sejak berusia 10 tahun. Keberhasilan beliau dalam menyaring hadits-hadits sahih dari 300.000 hadits yang diriwayatkan dari guru-gurunya, didukung oleh fakta bahwa dia telah melakukan safari penelitian bertahun-tahun di beberapa kota penting Islam demi menjaga hadits-hadits Rasulullah saw. Adapun beberapa karya-karya beliau yaitu Sahih Muslim, Al-Tamyiz, Al-Kuna wa Al-Asma, Al-Munfaridat wa Al-Wihdan dan At-Thabaqat.

Imam Muslim is a hadith expert who was born in Naisabur in 202 H and passed away in 216 H. His excellent thinking ability and memory made it easy for him to study sciences especially about Al-Quran and hadith. He studied hadith and frequently visited hadith experts since he was 10 years old. His success in filtering sahih hadith from 300.000 hadith narrated from his teachers was supported by the fact that he had done research for many years in some important Islamic cities in order to maintain Rasulullah saw’s hadith.
