Hosseini yang berjudul A Thousand Splendid Suns (2010). Novel A Thousand Splendidi Suns
belakang budaya patriarkis membentuk pola pikir tokoh perempuan sehingga menginternalisasi
dominan.

This study examines two texts written by Afghan diaspora writers with the title A Thousand Splendid by Khaled Hosseini and My Forbidden face by Latifa. The two texts that raises the theme of repression and violence are examined by naratologi theory and focalization of Gerard Gennete, the concept of social class, repression, resistance, gender relations, Islamic and Postclonial feminism. This study is intended to explore the condition of Afghan women in the 1978-2003 era as a result of class and gender constructions based on patriarchal culture and reveal how power, dominance, and gender inequality are practiced, reproduced or opposed by the text. In addition, it is necessary to compare the extent to which these two authors have similarities or differences in expressing the role of gender and patriarchal culture in shaping the repression of Afghan women. The result of the research shows that there are two types of narrators in both texts, external focalisator type and heterodiegetic narrator in ATSS and internal focalisator and homodiegetic narator in MFF. The narrative strategies of the two authors are in the form of using words, phrases and sentences that accurately reflect repression and violence on female characters in both texts. The similarity of the two author is their position against the social construction of a highly patriarchal Afghan society, resulting ini repression and resistance as the impact of gender inequalities, class and ethnic distinction and stratification, interpretation of Hadiths, and the application of the rules of the Taliban regime. However, the resistance presented to some focalizations by external and internal focalizator in both texts raises ambivalence and has the potential to strengthen gender construction that does not benefit women."
