"Identitas perguruan tinggi merupakan unsur yang penting dalam pembentukkan citra sebuah perguruan tinggi. Citra positif yang tertanam pada benak konsumen dapat mempengaruhi pilihan konsumen. Hal yang sama berlaku pada calon mahasiswa yang merupakan konsumen clan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian mengenai identitas perguruan tinggi, citra perguruan tinggi dan pilihan mahasiswa ini, ditujukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh identitas perguruan tinggi terhadap citra dan pilihan talon mahasiswa. Dalam penelitian ini identitas perguruan tinggi diwakili enam unsur yaitu informasi lulusan, strategi yang dijalankan oleh perguruan tinggi, kemampuan manajemen dan karyawan, nilai-nilai perguruan tinggi, strategi program pendidikan yang ditawarkan, serta komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh perguruan tinggi. Sementara itu citra perguruan tinggi dibentuk berdasarkan hasil evaluasi rasional dan evaluasi emosional yang dilakukan oleh calon mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 224 mahasiswa dari beberapa perguruan tinggi swasta di wilayah Jakarta dan Tangerang. Teknik pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah structural equation modeling (SEM) dengan metode estimasi maximum likelihood. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa variabel informasi lulusan, strategi perguruan tinggi, kemampuan manajemen clan karyawan tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap evaluasi rasional maupun evaluasi emosional calon mahasiswa. Dalam studi kasus ini juga ditemukan suatu fenomena dimana nilai-nilai perguruan tinggi dan komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh perguruan tinggi justru berpengaruh negatif terhadap evaluasi emosional talon mahasiswa. Selain itu juga ditemukan kenyataan bahwa ternyata pilihan calon mahasiswa terhadap sebuah perguruan tinggi swasta tidak dipengaruhi oleh hasil dari evaluasi rasional. Tetapi justru dipengaruhi oleh hasil dan evaluasi emosional calon mahasiswa.

University identity is an important element that formed an university image. Positive image in the consumer mind affects the consumer's choice which they are the student candidate and as a consumer of the university. Research about the university identity, university image and a student choice is to know the influence of the university identity and its image to the student candidates to choose the university. In this research, university identity is represented by six elements which are graduation information, university strategy, management and employee competencies, university values, program strategy and also its communications that is conducted by the university. University image is based on the result of the rational and emotional evaluation. This research is conducted on 224 students from several private universities in Jakarta and Tangerang. The data processing technique we use is the structural equation modeling (SEM) with estimate method of likelihood maximum. Result of data processing indicates the graduation information, university strategy, management and employee competencies which doesn't have any significant influence to the rational and emotional evaluation of the student candidate. In this case study we found a phenomenon of university and communications values conducted by university has negative influence on emotional evaluation of student candidate. Besides we also found that in reality student candidate's choice of a private university does not affect the result of rational evaluation, but it's affected by the result of emotional evaluation of student candidate."

"Kajian tentang Good University Governance GUG relatif baru dan belum konklusif. Bahkan dalam kerangka kontinjensi belum ada penelitian tentang pengaruh antara GUG dan kinerja dengan menempatkan variabel-variabel konteks yang umum di sektor privat seperti akuntansi manajemen, teknik manajemen dan strategi bisnis sebagai mediasinya dalam satu model fit. Teori kontinjensi menyebutkan bahwa konteks yang berbeda akan menghasilkan kinerja yang berbeda. Penelitian atas 231 Program Studi Akuntansi di Indonesia ini dengan menggunakan Struktural Equation Model dan pendekatan mediasi fit membuktikan adanya peran konteks tersebut. Penelitian ini memberikan bukti empiris bahwa hubungan GUG dan kinerja dipengaruhi oleh penerapan akuntansi manajemen, penerapan teknik manajemen dan pilihan prioritas strategi sebagai mediasi fit. Terjadi keragaman pengaruh GUG terhadap kinerja beserta mediasinya baik dari signifikansi, besaran, maupun arah hubungan yang ditentukan oleh konteks: PTN, PTS, dan PTS berakreditasi A dan B secara khusus dan sektor publik secara umum.

Studies on Good University Governance GUG is relatifely new and has not been conclusive. However, within the contigency framework has been no research on the effects of GUG and performance by placing context variables are common in the private sector such as management accounting, management techniques and business strategies as mediation in a fit model. Contingency theory states that a different context would produce a different performance. Research on 231 Accounting Study Program in Indonesia by using Structural Equation Model and fit as mediation approach proved the existence of its context. This study provides empirical evidence that the relationship GUG and performance is affected by the implementation of management accounting, the management techniques and the clarity of selection of strategic priorities as mediation fit. There are variation the influences GUG on performance and its mediation variables, of the significance, magnitude, and direction of the relationship is determined by PTN, PTS, and PTS accredited A and B in particular and the public sector in general."
