"Skripsi ini membahas cerpen-cerpen pemenang Hadiah Majalah Sastra 1961-1963 beserta persoalan penolakan dari dua pemenang kategori cerpen terhadap Hadiah Majalah Sastra 1962. Persoalan yang melingkungi majalah Sastra tersebut tidak dapat dilepaskan dari pertentangan ideologi politik yang terjadi pada paruh awal dasawarsa 1960-an. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa cerpen-cerpen pemenang Hadiah Majalah Sastra memiliki kekuatan dan kekhasan tersendiri yang membuatnya layak dianugerahi hadiah tersebut. Selain itu, penolakan terhadap hadiah tersebut lebih dilatarbelakangi oleh sentimen pribadi pengarang dan perbedaan ideologi politik.

This undergraduate thesis discusses short stories awarded by Sastra Magazine in 1961-1963 along with a problem regarding the refusal of two award-winning authors of short stories category towards the awards given by Sastra Magazine in 1962. This issue which surrounds the Sastra Magazine cannot be separated from the political ideology conflict occurred in early half of 1960’s. Qualitative method and literary-sociological approach are applied to analyze the data.

The findings show that short stories awarded by Sastra Magazine possess their own strength and uniqueness that deserve the awards. Moreover, the refusal of those awards was just a matter of personal sentiment and the difference of political ideology."
