In the book, together with the details of uncertainty calculations for many physical parameters, probability distributions and their properties are discussed. Definitions of various terms are given and will help the practicing metrologists to grasp the subject. The book helps to establish international standards for the evaluation of the quality of raw data obtained from various laboratories for interpreting the results of various national metrology institutes in an international inter-comparisons. For the routine calibration of instruments, a new idea for the use of pooled variance is introduced. The uncertainty calculations are explained for (i) independent linear inputs, (ii) non-linear inputs and (iii) correlated inputs. The merits and limitations of the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) are discussed. Monte Carlo methods for the derivation of the output distribution from the input distributions are introduced. The Bayesian alternative for calculation of expanded uncertainty is included. A large number of numerical examples is included."

"Pada penelitian ini dikembangkan sebuah perangkat lunak yang dapat digunakan untuk melakukan perhitungan ketidakpastian aktivitas dari citra 3-Dimensi hasil pemindaian SPECT. Perangkat lunak ini melakukan kuantifikasi count rate dari citra 3-Dimensi menjadi nilai aktivitas dan nilai ketidakpastian aktivitas. Algoritma dirancang dengan melakukan propagasi ketidakpastian menggunakan the law of propagation uncertainty untuk mengkarakterisasi penyebaran sumber kesalahan pada faktor kalibrasi, count Rate, dan Recovery Coefficient. Penerapan analisis ketidakpastian dapat meningkatkan validitas hasil dosimetri dan dapat membantu mengidentifikasi dan mengurangi kesalahan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemungkinan pengamatan dosis sebenarnya. Menentukan nilai ketidakpastian penting untuk setiap parameter yang diukur untuk menghindari adanya overdose treatment dan underdose treatment yang diberikan untuk pasien. Perangkat lunak yang dirancang menggunakan Bahasa pemrograman MATLAB. Validasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil kuantifikasi recovery coefficient oleh perangkat lunak dengan hasil referensi pada penelitian Gear et al.,2018. Hasil kuantifikasi citra pada penelitian ini berupa aktivitas dan ketidakpastian aktivitas pada organ right kidney sebesar (28,70±18,69%), (31,32±17,14%), (37,35±14,35%), (29,82±17,99%) dan pada organ left kidney (30,03±17,85%), (45,41±11,81%), (37,17±14.44%), (30,02±17,86%) aktivitas yang didapatkan berupa satuan MBq.

In this research, a software is developed that can be used to calculate the activity uncertainty of 3-Dimensional SPECT scanned images. This software performs quantificationcount ratefrom 3-Dimensional image into activity value and activity uncertainty value. The algorithm is designed by performing uncertainty propagation usingthe law of propagation uncertainty to characterize the spread of the error source on the calibration factor, count rate, and Recovery Coefficient. The application of uncertainty analysis can increase the validity of dosimetry results and can help identify and reduce errors in order to increase the likelihood of true dose observations. Determine the value of the important uncertainty for each measured parameter to avoid the presence ofoverdose treatment and underdose treatment given to the patient. Software designed using the MATLAB programming language. Validation is done by comparing the results of quantification recovery coefficient by software with reference results by Gear et al., 2018. The results of image quantification in this study are in the form of activity and uncertainty of activity in organs right kidney by (28.70±18.69%), (31.32±17.14%), (37.35±14.35%), (29.82±17.99%) and in left kidney (30.03±17.85%), (45.41±11.81%), (37.17±14.44%), (30.02±17.86%) the activity obtained is in MBq units."
