"Berkembangnya industri tekstil di Indonesia dari tahun ke tahun semakin meningkat. Lokasi industri terkonsentrasi di Jawa Barat 57 persen , Jawa Tengah 14 persen, dan Jakarta 17 persen dan sisanya tersebar di Jawa, Sumatera. Salah satu industri tekstil yang sedang berkembang saat ini adalah industri produk jeans. Industri jeans memiliki unit pewarnaan dyeing memiliki potensi pencemaran air dengan kandungan bahan kimia berbahaya, Chemical Oxygen Demand, asam, dan amoniak yang tinggi Verma dkk, 2012.
Pada penelitian ini, air limbah yang digunakan berasal dari pabrik X produksi bahan jean di Bandung, Jawa Barat. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efisiensi penyisihan COD, BOD, dan warna pada air limbah pabrik serta HRT optimum yang akan digunakan sebagai usulan desain eksisting di lapangan. Teknologi ABR-AF akan dioperasikan secara kontinyu dengan aliran air limbah up-down, dengan variasi HRT 12 jam, 18 jam , dan 24 jam.
Dari hasil penelitian, ABR-AF mampu menurunkan konsentrasi COD, BOD, dan warna air limbah jean sebesar 96,72 , 95,07 dan 45,1 pada HRT 24 jam. Variasi HRT mempengaruhi efisiensi penyisihan yang terjadi. Pada aplikasi di lapangan dengan debit 55 m3/hari, maka membutuhkan unit ABR-AF dengan dimensi panjang, lebar, dan tinggi reaktor adalah 7 m, 1,75 m x 4,75 m.

Textile Industrial in Indonesia are increasing from time to time. From the statistic data, there are 57 textile industry in West Java, 14 in Middle Java, and 17 in Jakarta. One of the most advanced textile industry is jeans textile. Jeans wastewater potentially damage the environment if discharged into the stream without any treatment, hence on site wastewater treatment with Anaerobic Baffled Reactor ABR Anaerobic Filter AF Bio Blox Media. This study aims to determine removal efficiency of COD, BOD, and colour concentration of ABR AF in the field.
In this study, ABR AF operated continuously and streamed up and down with HRT variation 12 hours, 18 hours, and 24 hours. Based on the result, ABR AF is able to decrease the concentration of BOD, COD and colour reached 96,72 , 95,07 dan 45,1 on 24 hours HRT.
Based on the data, the variations of HRT affect the removal efficiency result of COD, BOD, and colour significantly. Application in the field with 55 m3 day wastewater flowrate requires ABR AF unit with 7 meter length, 1,75 meter widht, and 4,75 meter height.
