"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui timbulan dan komposisi sampah pada Hotel Bumi Wiyata, Depok. Sampah-sampah yang dihasilkan sebagian besar berasal dari kamar tidur, ruang diklat, kolam renang, halaman, kantor, ballroom, dan dapur. Dimana aktivitas yang terjadi umumnya berada pada sumber-sumber tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan dan pengukuran timbulan sampah adalah metode pengukuran langsung dan SNI 19-3694-1994. Timbulan sampah Hotel Bumi Wiyata sebesar 5,10 liter/orang/hari atau 0,877 kg/orang/hari. Komposisi sampah Hotel Bumi Wiyata terdiri atas sampah organik 60,47%, plastik 6,98%, logam 0,54%, kertas 12,54%, pampers & diapers 0,94%, kaca 1,10%, sterofoam 0,09%, baterai 0,12%, karet 0,01%, kayu 0,33%, tekstil 0,67%, air 7,82%, bunga 4,31%, dan lain-lain 4,08%.
Hasil akhir penelitian ini adalah usulan penanganan sampah terkait aspek teknik operasional yang meliputi pemilahan dan pewadahan di sumber, pengumpulan, dan pembuangan sampah serta analisa upaya minimisasi sampah yang dapat dilakukan oleh pihak Hotel Bumi Wiyata. Berdasarkan hasil uji karakteristik sampah, potensi sampah Hotel Bumi Wiyata yang dapat dijadikan bahan baku kompos sebesar 6,17%, sampah yang dapat dijadikan bahan baku anaerobic digester sebesar 54,30%, dan sampah yang berpotensi di daur ulang sebesar 11,74%.

The focus of this study is to determine the waste generation and waste composition at Hotel Bumi Wiyata, Depok. The waste is generated mostly from the bedroom, meeting room, swimming pool, yard, office, ballroom, and kitchen. Where the activity that occurs in those resources. The method used in the collection and measurement of waste generation is a method of direct measurement and SNI 19-3694-1994. Solid waste generation Bumi Wiyata Hotel is equal to 5,10 liter/person/day atau 0,877 kg/person/day. Solid waste composition consist of 60,47% organic, 6,98% plastic, 0,54% metal, 12,54% paper, 0,94% diapers, 1,10% glass, 0,09% styrofoam, 0,12% battery, 0,01% rubber, 0,33% wood, 0,67% textile, 7,82% water, 4,31% flowers, and the other 4,08%.
The final result of this study is proposed waste management related aspects of operational technique that include separation and storage at the source, collection, and final disposal and analysis of waste minimization effort that can be done by the Hotel Bumi Wiyata. Waste characteristics based on test results, the potential treatment of waste from Hotel Bumi Wiyata that can be used as raw materials by 6,17% compost, waste that can be used as feedstock anaerobic digester 54,30%, and potentially waste in recycling of 11,74%.
