This research will examine hazing activities that occur and experienced by Indonesian Men's Water Polo National Team. Hazing can be defined as any action or activity in both groups and individuals that cause physical or mental harm or inconvenience that can disgrace, humiliate, or degrade someone's dignity, regardless of the location, intent, or consent of the participants. Hazing is usually formed as violence with four main categories: physical abuse, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, and psychological abuse. Hazing that several athletes of the Indonesian Men's Water Polo National Team from 3 different period of times is explained by using Messerschmidt's (1997) Theory of Structured Action, which illustrates that the hazing culture exists in a water polo environment and is still ongoing today."
