"Glodok merupakan salah satu tempat yang ditetapkan oleh PT.MRT sebagai tempat pemberhentian stasiun MRT, selain itu, sebagai desa wisata. Seiring dengan berjalannya waktu, Glodok semakin hilang nilai hostorisnya, seperti misalnya nanyian tradisional yang dibawakan oleh orang Tionghoa pada saat masyarakat berjalan melalui glodok, tanah lapang (tempat kuda), penamaan gang yang mulai hilang (gang madat, jalan cengkeh, jalan kopi, jalan pala). Secara daily culture panggilan nci-nci, asuk-asuk sudah mulai hilang secara perlahan dengan adanya perubahan dari dunia yang mulai modern. Faktor lain yang membuat hilangnya nilai sejarah Glodok adalah semakin sedikit penduduk asli glodok yang menetap di daerah Glodog, dan kurangnya pelestarian sejarah di lokasi tersebut. Padahal, budaya Tionghoa sendiri memberikan andil yang besar, seperti kaligrafi dan lukisan, sulaman, lentera, layangan dan keramik. Selain itu banyak akulturasi dari budaya Tionghoa-Betawi seperti, gambang kromong. Namun, hal ini kurang adanya pelestarian, seperti yang dikatakan oleh oleh Metta Setiandi bahwa, “We’re adapting but it’s changing all the time” yang membuat nilai sejarah Glodok hilang secara aktivitas dan kultur.
