"The ecological role of mangrove ecosystem is economically, socially and physically, highly significant. Despite the many benefits provided by mangroves, they tend to be under intense pressure from competing resource used by local vullagers, in particular, as firewood, or charcoal. The ecosystem is typically crucial, hence the benefits and values need to identify and estimate economically. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify economic values of mangroves based on ecosystem benefits; and (2) to estimate total economic value (TEV) of "use-value" and "non-use value" of mangroves. The method of economic valuation was applied to estimate TEV based on the benefits of mangroves ecosystem (direct-use value, indirect-use, option use, and existence use values). Results of this research are as follows. (1) Functions and benefits of the mangrove ecosystem in the village of Tawiri Consisted of direct-use (fuel wood collection for the subsistence needs of local villagers, wild animals used by humans for subsistence purposes, near by fishing activities); indirect-use (natural barrier to shoreline erosion, highly nutritious food source for animals in the mangrove area), option use (biodiversity bnfits), and existence use (WTP). (2) The TEV of mangrove was Rp 24,887,887 per year, consisting of direct-use value of Rp 11,299,500 per year (45.40%), indirect-value of Rp 9,098,077 per year (36.56%), exixtence value of Rp 4,083,750 per year (16.41%) and optionvalue of Rp 406,560 per year (1.63%)."

mangrove disana masih terjaga kondisinya.
konsentrasi klorofil-a, dan total suspended solid (TSS).
wilayah selatan Teluk Hurun.
pemberian pakan, aplikasi penumbuh plankton, hingga pengerukan tandon
pengendapan.
ABSTRACT
Lampung is a largest shrimp production area in Indonesia, among which
the existing farms in the Gulf Hurun where mangrove communities there are still
awake condition. The analysis used in this study uses descriptive analysis model
with spatial comparative approach. Comparisons were made through comparison
of two factors, physical factors and land cover. Land cover will be one of the
reference as a comparison against the physical factors consisting of salinity,
chlorophyll-a, and total suspended solids (TSS). The comparison is seen in two
different seasons and also a description of the results of interviews with sources in
the field. Naturally it can be said that the mangrove communities in the Gulf
region Hurun spread linearly along the shoreline, but the current distribution of
mangrove community is concentrated in the northern region of the Gulf Hurun.
The condition is inversely proportional to the growth ponds that are more
prevalent in the southern region of the Gulf of Hurun. Mangrove community has
no direct effect on the productivity of the pond. Basically, the existence of
mangrove communities affect the physical condition of the waters where the
water conditions will determine the productivity of the pond through the use of
lime, feeding, plankton grower application, until dredging reservoir
sedimentation."

"Mangrove ecosystem has been studied by many researchers in several topics, such as mangrove density, litter production and decomposition rate, nutrients dynamic, and structure of aquatic organism communities. Since their studies are incomplete, the comprehensive study about mangrove ecology as a unity of vegetations, water and sediment environments, and their relationships on the aquatic organisms, specifically plankton and infernal macrobenthic need more attention. The research was conducted at Blanakan mangrove pond from March - October 2008 which diveded into 4 sampling site such as tambak terbuka (TB), tambak tumpang sari (TS), tambak tanah timbul (IT) and tambak perhutani (TP). The aims of this research were to know and to analysis; (1) standing stock, structure, and composition of mangrove vegetation at Blanakan mangrove pond, (2) production and decomposition of mangrove litter, (3) abiotic factors, (4) the potency of nutrients, (5) the structure of plankton and infaunal macrobenthic Blanakan mangrove pond."

Land conversion of mangrove forests into fishponds is one of the main causes of the decline of mangrove forest area at Indonesia. Mangrove in the coastal area of Karawang District has declined from an area of 2699,3 ha (1972) became an area of 233,7 ha (2013). Utilization of mangrove forest ecosystems in Sedari village is not matched by an understanding of the importance of conservation of mangrove forest ecosystems in the future. The aims of this research are to identify the ecosystem services of mangrove forests, calculate the economic value of mangrove forests, and to analyze the potential for payment for ecosystem services in the sustainable management of mangrove ecosystems that can be applied in Sedari village. This research uses a quantitative approach. The collection of primary data and secondary data was conducted by questionnaire to 45 respondents (Fishpond?s farmer). Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and Burkhard Model. The potential for PES schemes is validated by PES experts. The results obtained, the main ecosystem services of the mangrove forest choosed by communities is protecting the coastal area from erosion and mangrove as fishing ground, spaing ground and nursery ground for fish, crabs and shrimp. A proxy for the total economic value of mangrove forest ecosystems in the Sedari village is Rp. 8.394.459.800/year. Net present value (NPV) is Rp. 61,072,655,400. The NPV was calculated for a period of 10 years and discount rate of 8%. The potential for PES schemes that can be applied in the Sedari village is among a group of OTAP as ecosystem seller, all Sedari communities that associated with mangrove forests (fishpond farmers, fishermen and rice farmers) as ecosystem buyer and the local government/PERHUTANI/NGO as intermediaries/facilitators. The value of willingness to pay/WTP to be paid by the buyer for sustainable management of mangrove ecosystems in the village is Rp 1,324,054/ha/year. Meanwhile, the value of willingness to accept/WTA to be accepted indirectly by the fish farmers is Rp. 24,374,324 ha / year for the sustainability of mangrove forest ecosystems in the future."

The coastal area of Pandeglang Regency , which faces the Sunda Strait, is prone to natural disaters. As the high wave tides, and in same periode including tsunami, are the named type of disasters that frequently hit the area. Mangrove ecosystem that are the part of coastal ecosystems have an importance role in reducing natural disasters caused by seawater waves. In addition to preventing abrasion, the mangrove root system can hold sediment. So that it will expand the coastline or accretion. This study aims to determine the effect of existence of mangrove ecosystems on coastline change in the form of abrasion and accretion within ten years during 2010 to 2020. The research method uses remote sensing and GIS Technology. The remote sensing data collection uses is separate into Landsat 7 ETM+ for 2010 and Landsat 8 OLI/TRS for 2015 and 2020. Spatial data processing using google earth engine, ArcGIS 10.6 and ENVI 5.3 software. Mangrove ecosystem change data is obtained using NDVI method. GIS technology is used for spatial analysis of coastline change rate data. As a result of this study show that during 2010 to 2020, mangrove ecosystems always change every period. Mangrove ecosystems along the coastal area of Pandeglang Regency increased during 2010 to 2020, but decreased in 2020 caused by Banten Tsunami disaster in 2018. This change certainly also affects the change of coastline. Based on the results of statistical analysis, the decrease in mangrove area has an influence of 48.68% on the area of abrasion, and the addition of mangrove area has an influence of 51.7% on the area of accretion. Spatially revealed that the decrease and the addition of mangrove area is proportional to the area changes abrasion and accretion."

"This study deals with an application of SPOT satellite data for mangrove forest inventory in Cimanuk Delta West Java (Indonesia). Mangrove of the area (7100 Ha) has been gradually decreasing by human pressure especially for fisheries purposes. In fact, mangrove here is a result of afforestation since 1960, with Rhizophora mucronata and R. apiculata as main planted species. Other species are Lumnitzera racemosa, Excoecaria agallocha, Bruguiera gymnorhiza and Avicennia which grow naturally. SPOT data were digitally analysed using Didactim software. A color composite image was analysed. A barycentric supervised classification and a textural analysis were applied. As an intermediate data, infrared color aerial photographs at 1/30,000 (1981) were interpreted manually. At least two mangrove types of mangrove could be identified from the SPOT image. Dense mangrove was found in Petak 7, Petak 8, Petak 9, and Petak 12. In the other Petaks, mangrove were less than 20% of their surface. Mangrove of Rhizophora in 26 Petaks covered 290 Ha only."

Papua Enggros Women's forest is a mangrove forest where Enggros Women earn an additional income by catching bia noor; a special shellfish which also a source of protein for the Enggros people. Men's are prohibited from entering the Women's Forest, if a man enters, a sanctions will be imposed. Enggros women only have a role in the management, utilization and monitoring customary rules. The ecosystem services of Women’s Forest consists of Provisioning Services, Regulating Services, Habitat Services and Cultural Services. The total economic value of Women's Forests is IDR 3,503,384,843. The economic loss is IDR 329,815 ha/year or IDR 12,547,481 for total 38,044 ha area. The management strategy must be carried out with three aspects of sustainability, economic, social, and environmental by using the DPSIR. The sustainability of the Women's Forest must be maintained by not reducing the forest area, eliminating the solid waste and reducing sea water pollution to meet the quality standards. Sustainability is must be supported by the regeneration of the young women of the Enggros Tribe who must continue to use the Women's Forest in the future. Economic value of Women's Forest can support another research which count the economic value of a sustainable customary forest."
