ABSTRAKThe purpose of this thesis is to assess the organization culture and managerial
competencies based on the Competing Values Framework by Cameron and Quinn
(2006). The population is all of the employees of PT. XYZ, a family owned
company and doing business related to exhibition services. This research used
Organization Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) as the data analysis
technique to diagnose the dominant orientation of organization based on the core
culture types and Management Skill Assessment Instrument (MSAI) to describe
and obtain description of the management behavior on the job. The results showed
that the dominant organizational cultures in PT XYZ at current condition are
Hierarchy and Market while the Clan culture as the expected culture. For the
assessment of managerial competencies in PT XYZ through a descriptive analysis
and Importance Performance Analysis by Martilla and James (1977), the result
shows that the overall average score of the current condition is in “Average” level
while the expected is in “Good” level. There is only one competency category,
Managing Continuous Improvement, which is considered as the focus of the
improvement and needs immediate improvements.
ABSTRACTTujuan dari tesis ini adalah untuk menilai budaya organisasi dan kompetensi
manajerial berdasarkan Competing Values Framework dari Cameron dan Quinn
(2006). Populasi yang dinilai adalah seluruh karyawan PT. XYZ, sebuah
perusahaan keluarga dan melakukan bisnis yang berkaitan dengan jasa pameran.
Penelitian ini menggunakan Organization Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI)
sebagai teknik analisis data untuk mendiagnosis orientasi dominan organisasi
berdasarkan jenis budaya inti dan Management Skill Assessment Instrument
(MSAI) untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang perilaku manajemen pada
pekerjaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya organisasi yang dominan
di PT XYZ pada kondisi saat ini adalah Hierarchy dan Market sementara budaya
Clan sebagai budaya yang diharapkan. Untuk asesmen kompetensi manajerial di
PT XYZ melalui analisis deskriptif dan Importance Performance Analysis dari
Martilla dan James (1977), hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata
keseluruhan untuk kondisi saat ini berada di level "Rata-rata" sedangkan yang
diharapkan adalah di level "Baik". Hanya terdapat satu kategori kompetensi,
Mengelola Perbaikan Berkelanjutan (Managing Continuous Improvement), yang
dianggap sebagai fokus perbaikan utama dan membutuhkan perbaikan segera"
