"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak dari akuisisi terhadap kinerja perusahaan target. Kinerja perusahaan diukur menggunakan beberapa rasio seperti Current Ratio (CR), Total Asset Turnover (TATO), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Return On Asset (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Net Profit Margin (NPM), dan Price Earning Ratio (PER). Selain itu penelitian ini juga meneliti apakah terdapat perbedaan antara pengakuisisi asing dan pengakuisisi domestik terhadap kinerja perusahaan target. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa seluruh rasio, kecuali DER, mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dengan pengujian tiga tahun sebelum dengan tiga tahun setelah diakuisisi. Namun jika hanya melihat satu tahun sebelum dengan tiga tahun setelah diakuisisi hanya CR, ROA, ROE, dan PER yang mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Selanjutnya melihat perbedaan pengakuisisi asing dengan pengakuisisi domestik terhadap kinerja perusahaan target, hanya TATO dan ROE yang memiliki perbedaan signifikan. Perusahaan yang diakuisisi asing memiliki peningkatan kinerja yang lebih baik.

This research aims to examine the impact of acquisition on performace of target firms using financial ratios, i.e., Current Ratio (CR), Total Asset Turnover (TATO), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Return On Asset (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Net Profit Margin (NPM), and Price Earning Ratio (PER). This research also examines whether there is a difference between the effect of domestic and foreign acquisition on targeted company performance.

The result shows that all ratios, except DER, tested three years before to three years after the acquisition has increased significantly after the company was acquired. If it was tested using one year before to three years after; only CR, ROA, ROE, and PER were significantly increased. Furthermore, comparing the effect of domestic and foreign acquisition on targeted companies? performance, only TATO and ROE have significant differences. Foreign acquisition have a better performance improvement on target companies? performances."
