"ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to analyze how the records management system used by the Deposit Acquisition and Processing Section of Library and Archives Pekanbaru. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, documentation studies. Sample in this study is the Dynamic Archive inactive in Section Deposit Acquisition and Processing. The results of this study is: On the whole it can be said that the records management system used by officers in the archival processing Deposit Acquisition and Processing Section of Library and Archives Pekanbaru is good enough. This can be seen in the use of archival storage systems, maintenance records, destruction of records. Depreciation archives have not done the appropriate depreciation prosudur guidelines applicable record keeping. It means that depreciation archives conducted Deposit Acquisition and Processing Section of Library and Archives Pekanbaru City Records Retention Schedule not use."

"Tesis ini membahas Manajemen Pusat Arsip khususnya di perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas Katolik Indonesia (Unika) Atma Jaya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara. Di Unika Atma Jaya memakai istilah Pusat Arsip karena selain mengelola arsip statis, Pusat Arsip juga menjadi koordinator atas unitunit pengolah (Records Center).Hasil penelitian menyarankan bahwa Pusat Arsip perlu disahkan/dilegalkan pendiriannya, masuk di dalam struktur organisasi, dan mempunyai tugas pokok dan fungsinya mendukung tercapainya visi, misi, dan tujuan universitas. Hal ini perlu dibicarakan dan diputuskan di level manajemen tertinggi universitas. Pusat Arsip berperan dalam menunjang tertib administrasi dan operasional universitas dalam menjalankan tugas dan fungsinya.

The focus of this study is the Archives Center Management specifically for higher education. This research was conducted at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. It is a qualitative descriptive interpretive design. The data were collected by means of interview. Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia uses Archives Center terminology because one of the responsibilities of the center is to coordinate the University's Records Centers besides its archives (static archives).

The results of the research suggest that Archives Center has to be legally established, included in the organization structure, and provided with job description and function to support the realization of the university?s vision, mission, and aims. All these need to be discussed and decided at the management level of the university. The role of Archives Center is to support the correct conduct of administration, operational duty, and function of the university."

"Preservasi terhadap arsip foto dilakukan untuk menjaga kondisi fisik arsip foto tersebut agar nilai informasi yang terkandung dalam arsip foto tersebut dapat diakses. Berdasarkan nilai informasi dan karakteristik fisik dari arsip foto, dibutuhkan upaya yang berbeda dari arsip konvensional untuk menjaga kondisi fisik dan informasi yang terdapat di dalamnya. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai upaya preservasi terhadap arsip foto oleh Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Padang Panjang. Berdasarkan teori piramida preservasi menurut Teygeler (2001) terdiri dari preventive conservation, passive conservation, active conservation, dan restoration oleh Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Padang Panjang dalam melakukan kegiatan preservasi arsip foto telah melakukan komponen upaya preservasi yang termasuk ke dalam piramida preservasi, namun masih terdapat beberapa komponen yang perlu dievaluasi untuk kegiatan preservasi pada lembaga tersebut.

Preservation of the photo archive is carried out to maintain the physical condition of the photo archive so that the value of the information contained in the photo archive can be accessed. Based on the information value and physical characteristics of photo archives, different efforts are needed from conventional archives to maintain the physical condition and information contained in them. This study discusses the preservation efforts of photo archives by the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service. Based on the theory of the preservation pyramid according to Teygeler (2001) consisting of preventive conservation, passive conservation, active conservation, and restoration by the Padang Panjang City Library and Archives Service in carrying out photo archive preservation activities, they have made preservation efforts components which are included in the preservation pyramid, but still There are several components that need to be evaluated for preservation activities at the institution."

"Arsip merupakan sumber informasi dan berguna sebagai alat bukti dan dasar pengambil keputusan suatu organisasi sehingga perlu untuk dijaga keamanannya dari berbagai ancaman. Keamanan akses arsip di central file yang dimiliki oleh Biro Umum Kementerian Z mengalami ancaman dari fasilitas dan pedoman yang berlaku. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi pandangan pengolah arsip terhadap sistem klasifikasi dan keamanan akses arsip yang diterapkan di unit kerja Kementerian Z mencakup mekanisme, instrumen dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penerapannya. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, studi dokumen, dan wawancara kepada delapan arsiparis Kementerian Z dari berbagai jenjang jabatan arsiparis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat kelalaian arsiparis dan organisasi terhadap pengawasan arsip di central file Biro Umum Kementerian Z karena arsip dianggap penting namun hanya sebatas ucapan. Sarana prasarana sebagai penunjang pengelolaan keamanan arsip di central file belum sesuai dengan pedoman. Kelalaian arsiparis dan organisasi terhadap pengawasan arsip di central file serta sarana prasarana yang belum memadai menjadi penyebab adanya akses ke central file oleh pihak tidak berwenang. Terkait hal tersebut, diperlukan penerapan dan penguatan aturan-aturan yang mengatur mengenai akses ke arsip khususnya di central file serta melengkapi sarana prasarana sesuai dengan pedoman yang berlaku.

Archives are source of information as evidence and for decision-making of organization, thus it is necessary to protect from various threats. Archive access security in the central file of the General Bureau of Ministry Z is threatened due to inadequate facilities and guidelines. The purpose of this research is to identify the archivists views regarding the classification system and archive security implemented in the working units of Ministry Z, including the mechanisms, instruments, and factors that influence its implementation. The method used is case study with qualitative approach, and data was collected through observation, document study, and interviews with eight archivists from various levels of position in Ministry Z. The research results show negligence by archivists and the organization in supervising archives, archives are considered important but only as words. Facilities and infrastructure supporting for archive security in the central file do not fully align with existing guidelines. The negligence of archivists and the organization towards archive supervision in the central file, combined with inadequate facilities, causes unauthorized access to the central file. It is necessary to implement and strengthen government rules on archive access in central file and complete the facilities and infrastructure by existing guidelines."
