"Retailing is an industry with high level of competition. It is a customer-based industry which depends on how it could be aware of what the customers needs and requirements are. One technique most used in supermarkets is the mix merchandise. The purpose of this paper is to identify associated products, which then grouped in mix merchandise with the use of market basket analysis. This association between products then will be applied in the design layout of the product in the supermarket. The process of identifying the related products bought together in one transaction is done by using data mining technique. Apriori algorithm is chosen as a method in the data mining process. Using WEKA (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis) software, the association rule between products is calculated. The results found five category association rules and fourteen sub-category association rules. These associations then will be interpreted as confidence and support to become consideration for the product layout."

"ABSTRAK
industri retail modern saat ini sedang berkembang pesat khususnya pada sektor minimarket. 212 Mart sebagai pendatang baru dalam industri retail modern dengan berbasis syariah harus bersaing dengan kompetitornya. Memastikan kualitas layanan, sangat penting bagi 212 Mart untuk memberikan kepuasan pelanggan dan menjaga loyalitas pelanggan. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan perlu diidentifikasi secara sistematis atribut kualitas pelayanan yang mempengaruhi kepuasan pelanggan dan memprioritaskan mode kegagalan kritis yang berakibat pada penurunan kualitas layanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan minimarket 212 Mart berbasis syariah dengan mengusulkan suatu metode pendekatan Retail Service Quality Scale (RSQS) untuk melihat tingkat kepuasan pelanggan berdasarkan nilai GAP antara ekspektasi dan persepsi, dan metode Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) untuk menentukan mode kegagalan kritis pelayanan serta tindakan perbaikan yang tepat. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa pelanggan 212 Mart belum puas dengan pelayanan yang diberikan 212 Mart. Adanya kegagalan kritis pelayanan 212 Mart pada aktivitas barang masuk yang sering terlambat dan barang dagangan yang tidak stabil, juga pada saat pelanggan memilih barang, tidak ada barang / produk di rak yang dipilih serta strategi harga dan promosi yang kurang.

ABSTRACT
The modern retail industry is currently growing rapidly, especially in the minimarket sector. 212 Mart as a newcomer to the modern retail industry with sharia-based must compete with its competitors. Ensuring service quality, is very important for 212 Mart to provide customer satisfaction and maintain customer loyalty. To improve service quality, it needs to be systematically identified service quality attributes that affect customer satisfaction and prioritize critical failure modes that result in a decrease in service quality. This study aims to improve the quality of sharia-based 212 Mart minimarket services by proposing a Retail Service Quality Scale (RSQS) approach to see the level of customer satisfaction based on the GAP score between expectations and perceptions, and the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to determine critical service failure and appropriate corrective action. In this study it was found that 212 Mart customers were not satisfied with the services provided by 212 Mart. There is a critical failure of the 212 Mart service on the activity of incoming goods that are often late and unstable merchandise, also when the customer selects the goods, there are no goods / products on the shelf selected and the price and promotion strategies are lacking."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak keberadaan ritel modern terhadap kinerja ritel tradisional dalam kebijakan zonasi ritel Perda DKI No.2 Tahun 2002. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 153 ritel tradisional PD Pasar Jaya yang tersebar di DKI Jakarta. Dalam studi ini dilakukan identifikasi terhadap ritel modern (minimarket, supermarket, dan hypermarket) yang melanggar ketentuan kebijakan zonasi ritel.
Penelitian ini menggunakan data jumlah pedagang ritel tradisional sebagai proksi variabel kinerja ritel tradisional. Analisis kuantitatif yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan regresi berganda guna menguji pengaruh jumlah ritel modern yang jaraknya terdekat dengan ritel tradisional, revitalisasi pasar, dan potensi pasar terhadap kinerja tradisional.
Dari hasil penelitian, diperoleh gambaran deskriptif bahwa implementasi kebijakan zonasi ritel di DKI Jakarta banyak dilanggar oleh pelaku usaha ritel modern. Selain itu, diperoleh hasil bahwa variabel jumlah ritel modern yang jaraknya terdekat dengan ritel tradisional dan potensi pasar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja tradisional. Namun, hubungan antara jumlah ritel modern yang jaraknya terdekat dengan ritel tradisional dengan kinerja tradisional adalah tidak linier (non-linier). Hal tersebut berarti bahwa pada awalnya keberadaan ritel modern memiliki hubungan positif dengan kinerja ritel tradisional namun pada rentang jumlah tertentu dan jumlahnya sudah melebihi titik kritis (batas maksimum) maka hubungannya akan menjadi negatif dengan kinerja ritel tradisional. Batas maksimum jumlah ritel modern yang diperbolehkan hanya berjumlah 1 (satu) outlet yang berada di dekat ritel tradisional. Adapun jenis ritel modern yang paling berpengaruh signifikan adalah supermarket. Peneliti merekomendasikan agar pemerintah mengkaji ulang Perda DKI Jakarta No. 2 Tahun 2002, meningkatkan komitmen pemerintah dalam membatasi serbuan jaringan ritel modern terutama ritel supermarket melalui pengetatan izin, serta optimalisasi program revitalisasi pasar ritel tradisional baik segi fisik maupun non fisik.

This study aimed to analyze the impact of modern retail coexistence with traditional retail on traditional retail's performance in retail zoning policy of Jakarta Regional Regulation No 2 2002. The traditional retails in this study were PD Pasar Jaya traditional retail where there were 153 markets spreaded across Jakarta. This research identified the modern retails minimarkets supermarkets hypermarkets location in accordance to retail zoning policy.
This study used number of traditional retailers as a proxy of performance variable. This research used the descriptive and multiple regression analysis in order to test the impact of the the number of modern retails which violated the retail zoning policy the market revitalization and the market potential to traditional retail's performance.
Result showed that most of modern retails violated the zoning policy Furthermore the result also showed that the number of modern retails which are located at near traditional retails and market potential variable had a significant impact on traditional retail's performance Surprisingly the correlation between the number of modern retails which are located at near traditional retails with traditional retail's performance was not linear It means that the correlation between number of modern retails and traditional retail's performance is a positive within a certain amount and then becomes negative afterward The maximum number of modern retails in which the correlation is positive is 1 one Inparticular it is only supermarket that has significant impact on traditional retail's performance We recommend reviewing the Jakarta Regional Regulation No 2 2002 increasing the government 39's commitment to restrict the modern retail growth optimizing the revitalization program for the traditional retail tangible and in tangible.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon kompetitif dari ritel kecil dan independen di kota Bekasi terhadap hadirnya ritel modern terorganisasi (minimarket). Sikap respon kompetitif yang ditunjukkan oleh ritel kecil dan independen dilihat dari keragaman strategi fungsional dan strategi bisnis yang dijalankan, dan dengan mengklasifikasikan peritel kedalam kelompok strategi, dan akhirnya dengan menilai kinerja dari kelompok strategi yang terbentuk. Penelitian ini menggunakan data survei dari 170 toko kelontong di kota Bekasi. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Analisis Faktor untuk mencari keragaman strategi yang ada, dan analisis kluster untuk mencari kelompok strategi yang ada, serta uji non-parametric ANOVA Kruskal Wallis untuk mengetahui kinerja kelompok strategi. Penelitian ini menemukan adanya kelompok strategi di antara ritel kecil dan independen di kota Bekasi dan memiliki perbedaan kinerja terhadap hadirnya ritel modern.

The objective of this study is to decipher the competitive response of small, independent retailer in Bekasi to Organized retail (Minimart). The competitive behaviour is comprehended in terms of pattern of retail functional and business strategies, further classifying the retailers into strategic groups, and finally by assessing the performance of this strategic groups. this study is based on survey of 170 retailer shop in Bekasi city. Factor Analysis is used to find the pattern of strategy, and Cluster Analysis is used to find strategic groups, and Non-Parametric ANOVA Kruskal Wallis to find the performance of strategic groups. The result show that strategic groups exist among small independent retailer in Bekasi city and had different performance to organized modern retailer.

"Dalam perkembangannya dewasa ini, Ritel telah menjadi salah satu bidang usaha yang diminati oleh investor, baik lokal maupun asing. Persaingan ketat antara peritel lokal dan peritel asing, termasuk waralaba lokal dan asing, memaksa peritel lokal dan Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) untuk membenahi diri agar dapat bersaing dan sejajar dalam usaha pasar ritel. Kondisi ini tentunya merupakan hal yang positif bagi masyarakat luas sebagai konsumen yang diuntungkan dari persaingan tersebut dan sekaligus memberikan kontribusi bagi perekonomian nasional secara makro serta mendukung usaha Pemerintah terkait dengan penciptaan lapangan dan penyerapan tenaga kerja. Pemerintah sebagai Regulator dan penentu kebijakan memiliki peran yang sangat penting demi terciptanya iklim persaingan usaha yang sehat dan perlindungan terhadap UMKM. Oleh karena itu ketentuan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku harus dapat memberikan jaminan dan kepastian hukum, iklim persaingan usaha yang sehat dalam rangka menarik modal investor, baik dalam maupun luar negeri, serta perlindungan bagi pelaku usaha nasional.

In its recent development, Retail has become one of the most sought after line of business by local and foreign investors. Fierce competition between local and foreign retailer, including local and foreign franchise, has forced local retailer as well as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (UMKM) to make business improvement and reform in order to compete and align themselves in the Retail market competition. This condition is certainly a positive thing for the public as consumers who profited by such competition and sufficiently contributes for the national economy as well as element of support for the Government in its effort to create job opportunities and fight against unemployment. The Government is one of the crucial key player in this equation as the State Regulatory and policy-maker, to ensure healthy business competition and the protection of UMKM in Retail market. Therefore, the prevailing laws and regulations must provide certainty of law, promote healthy business competition atmosphere in order to attract both local and foreign investors, as well as the protection of national businesses."
