"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas tentang penerapan proses manajemen koleksi pada rental komik dan rental VCD/DVD. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Manajemen koleksi wajib dilakukan di perpustakaan untuk mempermudah temu kembali koleksi yang dibutuhkan, selain di Perpustakaan manajemen koleksi pun diterapkan pada rental komik dan rental vcd/dvd yang juga memiliki layanan utama berupa peminjaman koleksi (sirkulasi). Melalui serangkaian wawancara dan observasi lapangan, dapat ditemukan bahwa manajemen koleksi yang dijalankan oleh pengelola rental komik dan rental vcd/dvd mirip proses proses pengembangan koleksi perpustakaan, meskipun pengelola rental komik dan rental vcd/dvd melaksanakan kegiatan manajemen koleksi secara sederhana.

ABSTRACTThis thesis discusses about the application of collection management process at the rental comic and vcd/dvd. It is a qualitative research with case studies. Collection management must be done in the library to facilitate retrieval of needed collection. It is found out that the process of collection management is applied in the comic and disc rental which also has a lending collection as the key services. Through a series of interviews and field observations, I found that the collection management held by the rentals is similar with collection management in the library, although their collection management activities is more simple and does not use standards used by libraries."
