"Permasalahan yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah sejauh mana pemanfaatan Internet oleh pemakai di UPT Perpustakaan UI. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan Internet oleh pemakai di UPT Perpustakaan UI dan untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi oleh pemakai dalam memanfaatkan Internet. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah metode survey dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada responden. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat ditarik beberapa kesimpulan yaitu setelah menggunakan Internet antara 3-4 bulan dengan menghabiskan 1-2 jam per minggunya, responden telah mampu mencari sendiri informasi yang dikehendakinya dari Internet. Hampir seluruh responden ternyata tidak memiliki account. Lebih dari separuh responden beranggapan bahwa terminal komputer sebanyak 3 unit yang disediakan oleh UPT Perpustakaan UI untuk mengakses Internet belum cukup untuk melayani kebutuhan pemakai. Lebih dari separuh responden juga mengaku mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan Internet. Dari responden yang pernah meminta bantuan pustakawan, sebagian besar responden mengatakan bahwa pustakawan yang dimintai bantuan bisa membantu mereka."
