Kata kunci:Obesitas; IMT; lingkar pinggang; persentase lemak tubuh; cut-off point.

BMI body mass index and waist circumference WC have been extensively used to define obese status. Several studies have raised that BMI and WC cut off points may be different among various populations. The objective of this study was to determine optimal cut off points for BMI and WC to identify obesity in men and women from Sharia and Law Faculty of Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung. A total of 272 subjects aged 19 45 years men, n 116 women, n 156 were assessed for weight, height, WC, and body fat percentage BF . BF was determined using BIA bioelectrical impedance analysis Omron HBF 212. The existing BMI and waist circumference cut off points from Ministry of Health of Indonesia showed low sensitivity to identify obesity in our subjects. The optimal cut off points for BMI and WC for determination of obesity in men and women were 24.60 kg m2 24.05 kg m2 82.60 cm and 76.00 cm, respectively. In conclusion, BMI is the most predictive for men to define obese status, while WC is for women. These research findings should be used to evaluate new cut off points for BMI and WC to define obesity optimally in men and women in Sharia and Law Faculty of Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung.Key words Obesity BMI waist circumference body fat percentage cut off point."

Obesity is a condition where there is excess body weight due to an abnormal accumulation of fat. Disturbance in physical appearance during adolescents could influence adolescents' self-esteem and later affected their academic achievement at school. There is a reciprocal correlation between self-esteem and academic achievement (Coopersmith, 1967 dalam Frey & Carlock, 1984; Trautwein et al., 2006). Obese adolescents are associated with low self-esteem (French et al., 1995; Pesa, Syre, & Jones, 2000). Obesity is also affected adolescents' academic achievement, where obese adolescents tend to have lower academic achievement than normal weight adolescents (Datar, Sturm, & Magnabosco, 2004; Pyle et al., 2006). Therefore, the current study was conducted to examine the relationship of self-esteem and academic achievement on obese adolescents.
It was hypothesized that there is a relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement on obese adolescents. Subjects were consisted of 31 adolescents, 18 of them were males and 13 were females between the age of 14 and 18 years old. All subjects were high school students in Jakarta. Subjects were asked to fill out self-esteem scale which designed based on Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (1967). Subject's academic achievements were seen based on their examination results. The Pearson?s product moment correlation did not show any significant relationships between self-esteem and academic achievement on obesity adolescent.
This result could be explained that there were other factors related to self-esteem and academic achievement that did not take account of in this study. Further research should consider other variables that related to self-esteem and academic achievement, include all academic subjects in school.

"Whether you listen to Bach or Bono, music has a significant role in your life--even if you never realized it. Why does music evoke such powerful moods? The answers are at last becoming clear, thanks to revolutionary neuroscience and the emerging field of evolutionary psychology. Both a cutting-edge study and a tribute to the beauty of music itself, this book unravels a host of mysteries that affect everything from pop culture to our understanding of human nature, including: Are our musical preferences shaped in utero? Is there a cutoff point for acquiring new tastes in music? What do PET scans and MRIs reveal about the brain's response to music? Is musical pleasure different from other kinds of pleasure? Neuroscientist and former recording engineer Levitin explores music across cultures, brain disorders and developmental levels to unlock deep secrets about how nature and nurture forge a uniquely human obsession"
