"Novel Andrew and Joey, A Tale of Bali dan The Java Man keduanya merupakan karya Jamie James, seorang penulis berkebangsaan Amerika. Andrew and Joey, A Tale of Bali and The Java Man, both are the works of an American writer, Jamie James. Each novel produces the representations of Bali and Java, loaded with American politics, which conquers, demeans or belittles fast.

By applying Edward Said's postcolonial approach, it is shown how the writer's orientalism works. By creating and selecting the characters which in turn becoming the.el's vocalization, the representation of Bali in Andrew and Joey, a Tale of Bali, is produced. This is then becomes the only voice of Bali since the Balinese in this novel comes to the reader only through the American's point of view.
