Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan pendapat anak diplomat mengenai ciri manusia modern menurut Alex Inkeles. Penelitian ini mempergunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam. Hal ini dilakukan dengan maksud untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang topik penelitian yang lebih rinci. Konsep yang dipakai adalah sosialisasi dengan melihat nilai-nilai modern apa saja yang diturunkan oleh agen-agennya. Adapun agen sosialisasi yang diamati adalah keluarga, sekolah, dan teman sepermainan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keluarga paling berperan dalam sosialisasi modern, karena intensitas pertemuan mereka yang tinggi. Sekolah berperan melalui kurikulum modern selama di luar negeri. Teman sepermainan semasa remaja di luar negeri berpengaruh karena remaja memiliki ketergantungan kepada kelompok sosialnnya. Ciri-ciri yang diteliti ada dua-belas dan saling berhubungan. Ciri keterbukaan pada hal-hal baru berhubungan erat dengan ciri kesiapan menerima perubahan sosial. Maka tidaklah mengherankan jikalau temuan penelitian tidak dapat dipisahkan satu sama lain. Ciri berikut yang berhubungan adalah kesadaran akan adanya keanekaragaman pendapat dengan kesadaran akan pentingnya informasi untuk mendasari pendapatnya tersebut. Ciri menghargai waktu juga berhubungan dengan ciri perencanaan. Ciri efficacy berhubungan dengan ciri-ciri segala sesuatu dapat diperhitungklan, menghargai kemampuan teknis, memiliki aspirasi, pendidikan dan pekerjaan serta mendasari penilaian pada logika dalam pengambilan keputusan Kelima ciri tersebut menghargai kemampuan manusia. menghargai harga diri dapat berdiri sendiri. This article describes the opinion of children of diplomats regarding the characteristics of modern humans according to Alex Inkeles. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews. This is done with the aim of obtaining information about the research topic in more detail. The concept used is socialization by looking at what modern values ​​are passed down by the agents. The socialization agents observed were family, school and playmates. The research results show that families play the most important role in modern socialization, because of the high intensity of their meetings. Schools play a role through a modern curriculum while abroad. Friends who play as teenagers abroad are influential because teenagers are dependent on their social groups. There are twelve characteristics studied and they are interconnected. The characteristic of openness to new things is closely related to the characteristic of readiness to accept social change. So it is not surprising that research findings cannot be separated from each other. The following characteristic that is related is awareness of the existence of diversity of opinion with awareness of the importance of information on which to base that opinion. The characteristic of valuing time is also related to the characteristic of planning. The characteristics of efficacy are related to the characteristics of everything being able to be calculated, respecting technical abilities, having aspirations, education and work and basing judgments on logic in decision making. These five characteristics respect human abilities. respecting self-worth can stand alone. The characteristic of the findings is that the three informants have a modern view when viewed with the characteristics of modern humans according to Alex Inkcies.
