Latar Belakang: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peran penggunaan aplikasi seluler terhadap kepatuhan terapi dan efikasi akupresur mandiri pada penderita astenopia.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimental dengan kelompok kontrol yang terdiri dari dua kelompok: kelompok perlakuan yang menggunakan aplikasi seluler ACUVISI untuk memandu terapi akupresur dan kelompok kontrol yang tidak menggunakan aplikasi seluler. Kepatuhan terapi diukur dengan Tingkat Kepatuhan Terapi yang dihitung berdasarkan frekuensi pelaksanaan terapi, serta modifikasi Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8(MMAS-8). Efikasi terapi diukur dengan Visual Analog Scale (VAS) untuk intensitas gejala astenopia, dan Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q)Hasil: Peserta penelitian yang mengikuti penelitian ini berjumlah 57 peserta (30 peserta pada kelompok perlakuan dan 27 peserta pada kelompok kontrol). Kepatuhan terapi pada kelompok perlakuan lebih baik dibandingkan pada kelompok perlakuan selama 4 minggu evaluasi (p<0,001). Perbaikan VAS pada evaluasi 4 minggu pada kelompok perlakuan (MD -4,1; 95% CI, -4,8 to -3,3; p<0,001) lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (MD 0,9; 95% CI, 1,6 to -0,2; p=0,012). Perbaikan skor CVS-Q pada evaluasi 4 minggu pada kelompok perlakuan (MD -9,6; 95% CI, -11,7 to -7,5; p<0,001) lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (MD -2,3; 95% CI, -4,1 to -0,5; p=0,016).Kesimpulan: Aplikasi seluler terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan terapi dan efikasi akupresur pada pasien dengan astenopia.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the role of mobile application use in enhancing therapy adherence and the efficacy of self-administered acupressure in patients with asthenopia.

Methods: A quasi-experimental design with a control group was employed, consisting of two groups: the treatment group, which used the ACUVISI mobile application to guide acupressure therapy, and the control group, which did not use the mobile application. Therapy adherence was measured by the Therapy Adherence Level, calculated based on the frequency of therapy execution, as well as the modified Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8). Therapy efficacy was assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for asthenopia symptom intensity, and the Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q).

Results: A total of 57 participants were enrolled in the study (30 in the treatment group and 27 in the control group). Therapy adherence in the treatment group was significantly better than in the control group over a 4-week evaluation period (p<0.001). Improvement in VAS scores at the 4-week evaluation was greater in the treatment group (MD -4.1; 95% CI, -4.8 to -3.3; p<0.001) compared to the control group (MD 0.9; 95% CI, 1.6 to -0.2; p=0.012). Improvement in CVS-Q scores at the 4-week evaluation was also better in the treatment group (MD -9.6; 95% CI, -11.7 to -7.5; p<0.001) compared to the control group (MD -2.3; 95% CI, -4.1 to -0.5; p=0.016).

Conclusion: The use of a mobile application enhances therapy adherence and the efficacy of acupressure therapy in patients with asthenopia.
